Fairy Tail 520 Review/Rant

     Hello everyone, Bookworm here and I hope everyone's having a great day today! I'm sorry for neglecting my update schedule, but school has been a pain in the ass recently so I'm very sorry for not doing much. I got an idea for the next chapter of this fanfiction so I'll get to that in a bit but for now, we have Fairy Tail chapter 520; Dragon or Demon... Ooooh boooy... where to even begin with this bloody chapter...

    During the first segment of this chapter, Erza sees her mother's impaled corpse sitting on the battlefield and says her goodbyes. Erza says she felt sympathetic for her mother but confesses that no matter what, master has always been her parent. Wendy mentions that she noticed master's scent has disappeared from the battlefield to which Erza embraces her, leading Wendy to realize the terrible truth: Master is dead. This was actually a pretty good part of the chapter, considering everything, the battle was wrapped up neatly even though I hoped Irene would have lasted longer, I would have loved to see her in action again but fighting Acnologia as a dragon. But it was the next half of this god damned chapter that fucking got me.

     We go back to Igneel and see him talking with Natsu over his dying, saying that Natsu will die unless he chooses one seed over the other. I was waiting so long for this moment! Waiting for Natsu to either become a dragon or a demon! I was so hyped for this and then- BOOM! NAH BITCH IMMA HUMAN! WTF IS THIS SHIT!? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?! HIRO YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING PLAYING ME, BRO! YOU GOTTA! OH HOLY HELL, SO WHAT WAS WITH ALL THIS, HUH!? END IS GONE NOW?! END IS FUCKING GONE!? MORE THAN HALF OF THIS ARC REVOLVED AROUND NATSU BEING END AND HIS CONNECTION TO ZEREF, IS ALL THAT IN THE PAST NOW!? IS THAT IT!? HIRO YOU ARE YANKING AT MY STRINGS WITH ALL THESE ASSPULLS AND BULL SHIT! THAT'S IT! YA HEAR!? THAT'S BLOODY IT! I WILL DROP FAIRY TAIL LIKE A HOT PLATE IF YOU DON'T WRITE SOMETHING THAT AIN'T SHITTY!

     Hhhhhhh... I'm sorry, I'm seriously getting fed up with all this. I really am. I just... why, Hiro? I loved this series and thought it had some amazing potential to be up there with the top tens, but now... I'm being serious about dropping Fairy Tail, though, I'm dead serious about that and I already have a new anime to go to if things don't get better. However, there were a few redeeming concepts about this part in the chapter: Natsu waking up, Universe One getting reversed, and Natsu's dialogue on page 16 from Manga Stream. This is what it says: "A bunch of stuff went down inside my heart while I was out. Thanks to that, I truly believe that I'm 'human'." Notice the quotations when Natsu said this? It means that Natsu knows he isn't human but believes he still has the heart of one and that alone is slightly redeeming.

     Now, when I was on a blind rage about this chapter, I reread it multiple times to process what I've read and I actually came up with a thought: You know how those seeds dispersed? What if when Natsu chose being a human, those seeds basically hatched and began growing throughout his body. He is a demon with the powers of a dragon, but he appears completely human (I'm hoping he has an etherious form, though) and still has the emotions and the thought process of a human. I'm trying to think as positively about this chapter as possible, I'll give Hiro the benefit of the doubt by giving this series another three chapters, see if it can fully redeem itself, but if nothing happens then I'll just drop it.
