Chapter Seven: Preparation

(A/N): Hello friends! It's bookworm! I'm just letting everyone here know that I will be inactive for the rest of this week because I'm going to Disney Land, yay! So I will be updating as much as possible today, every book will have updates, I'm aiming to get 1-3 chapters of each book done. And sorry for making you wait so long for this update, I was occupied with The Hunted, I just couldn't stop writing that book for some reason. Anyways, enjoy the chapter!     ~~One Week Later~~

    Lucy

     Gajeel was released from the hospital today, so many mage doctors and doctors who specialize in healing black arts had come over to the hospital within the last three days. They all said the same thing; there was nothing they could do. Gajeel's soul and magic were gone, they couldn't do anything about that, and his body was already done recovering through Porlyusca's magic. Gajeel could still stand and move around, but he couldn't do any jobs.

     Natsu didn't seem to give a damn though, he started guild brawls daily now, he claimed that he was trying to lighten up the mood, nobody liked what he was doing but went along with it. Natsu would joke, laugh and play just like he used to, but now something's off. he's starting to act like there was something on his mind, like he was occupied with something. Whenever he isn't eating, doing a job, playing with the kids, or fighting, he's always out side with some sorts of backpack with him, I could already tell that it was full of materials. I would ask him what he was doing and he would just say "don't worry about it", he would sound defensive when he says it too.

     I was watching Natsu from my seat at a table, I was teaching Nashi how to write when Natsu randomly picked a fight with Gray. Elfman was shouting at them, saying stuff about real men and fighting, the two obviously punched the shit out of him, he landed on Levy while she was reading her book. Gajeel got pissed, beat the shit out of Elfman, Evergreen joined in, hitting Gajeel when the rest of the Thunder Legion joined in, the rest was already in motion, the entire guild fought amongst themselves. The kids, Levy, Mirajane, and I ducked behind the bar counter, covering our heads as the counter crashed and boomed from the throwing people and objects. Wait, is anyone else getting this sense of de ja vu here? Only me? Probably.

     The fighting stopped almost as instantly as it began, when the Master appeared everyone was pointing at Natsu and Gray as the two were in the middle of a tug-o-war competition with Max's outrageous hairdo. It was pretty comical to look at. When the two saw the pointing fingers and Master's pissed aura, Gray pushed away from Natsu and released Max, pointing at Natsu too. Natsu paled with anger marks flashing all over his head.

    "WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU SHOVE YOUR BUDDY UNDER THE BUSS LIKE THAT YA SON OF A BI-" Natsu pouted.

    "NATSU! MY OFFICE! NOW!" Master boomed, cutting him off before he could finish the thought. Natsu grumbled and stomped after Master and the two made way up the stairs, he turned around to face the crowd, shoved two middle fingers in the air, then disappeared into the hallway after Master. Everyone started snickering.

    "That dick," Max said with crying anime eyes, holding his hair with a pout. Gray smirked at him and pulled on his hair again. Max cried out as everyone else started laughing.

    "HEY EVERYONE!" Everyone turned to Gajeel, he was holding a broom stick in his hands and smirked sinisterly. "Who wants to help me shove this big ass broom UP MAX'S ASS?" Everyone immediately started out for Max with devil smiles.

     I think I've had enough for one day. Levy, Juvia and I took our kid's hands and ditched the place. While we were walking out the guild hall we heard arguing. We stopped and saw that we were directly below the window sill of Master's office. I gestured Juvia and Levy to take the kids to my apartment, when they left I pressed my ear against the wall, making out Master and Natsu's words as the guild shook from the fighting.

    "LIKE HELL I'M GONNA REPAIR THIS DAMNED HALL AGAIN!" Natsu's voice shouted.

    "Natsu! I've had enough of your shit! If you aren't going to learn your damn lesson you are going to repair this guild hall again as any times it takes to do it until it gets through your thick skull!" Master yelled back.

    "WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME, HUH!? GRAY FUCKBUSTER WAS IN THIS DAMNED FIGHT TOO!" I couldn't help but laugh at that.

    "NATSU-"

    "NO YOU LISTEN TO ME YOU OLD FART!" Natsu's voice became solid like a ton of iron, and his tone was not like his original one at all. He sounded beyond pissed and when he gets like this he won't be quiet until he gets his point across. "LISTEN HERE, OLD MAN, I WON'T DO THIS SHIT BECAUSE YOU WANT ME TO! I REFUSE! WANNA KNOW WHY? JUST BECAUSE I'M A MOTHER FRICKING DEMON YOU THINK YOU COULD TREAT ME LIKE ALL THE PROBLEMS IN THIS GUILD ARE BECAUSE OF ME WHEN I AM JUST AS MUCH OF A BLAME AS EVERY OTHER HUMAN  IN THIS FILTHY PLACE! IF YOU DON'T TREAT ME LIKE A PERSON THEN I WILL FUCKING QUIT THIS GUILD, YA HEAR?! ... You're supposed to know me better than that, gramps, that I feel things like every other human could, why are you treating me like this? Is it really that bad in knowing that I'm not human..."

     The room became quiet, Lucy felt her eyes widen and tear sting her eyes. Did Natsu, the loyal, fun, and outrageously fun fire head that they all know, just threaten to quit the guild?  She never heard of this before, he never told her in such description like he just now did.

    "You are free to quit the guild if you desire, Natsu, but let me ask you two questions; one, what will you do with your life when it no longer concerns us? And two, I know there's something else to your outburst of leaving than that, what is it?"

     Silence.

    "... I, I... I'm sorry, gramps, this was a dick move for me. I didn't think that far ahead, I was upset and that's all. Lucy's not really that easy to talk to with things like this and I really had to let it all out. I'll stay in this guild, as long as I could anyways."

    "That's good to hear. I know you probably feel that this is unfair, but remember what happened six years ago? To you? I don't want that to happen again, son."

    "..."

    "But you aren't answering my questions, boy, why are you really planning on leaving the guild?"

    "..."

    "Vent out your reasons to me when you feel like it, son, just come by and visit. I suppose I was treating you unfairly, you could leave if you want, I could rebuild the damage."

    "Aye," Natsu said, the window swung open and Natsu jumped out of it, using his fire to fly towards our house. He didn't even notice me.

     Damn it.

     Damn it all to hell.

     I knew he wouldn't listen to me, and I couldn't just tell him my plans, he would just end up locking me inside the hall to keep me from going out to find Zeref. I've been thinking this over for a week, just a few days ago I finally reached my conclusion and spent the rest of my time working out, practicing my magic, and working on my special... project. Lucy was curious about it and if I don't find a way to finish it and soon they would end up finding it eventually.

     I made it back to the apartment within a few seconds, I landed by the window and hopped in, my greatest fear waiting for me on the other side. Juvia and Levy were there, along with the kids, and they had found my backpack. I felt my skin pale as Levy glared at me accusingly and took out the objects within it.

     Books and a scroll, all with names on the covers. Mard Geer, Seilah, Kyoka, Franmalth, Torfuza, Ezel, and Kiminari.

    "Natsu-kun, what is this? What are you planning?" She demanded.
