You were the last student in the classroom. You needed a little more time to finish your test but you did it. You were gathering your things as you turned it in and the teacher was walking around checking desks.

"(l/n), doesn't Bokuto sit next to you?" She questions you. "Isn't that his notebook under his chair?"

You glance down under his chair and there it is. You pick it up and flip to the front cover to see Bokuto's name written across it. "Yeah, it is."

The teacher sighs, "I told him not to forget it today. It has the homework problems inside. Do you know where the gym is?"

You nod.

"Could you take it to him for me? You guys seem like good friends in class. It shouldn't be too nerve wracking."

"A-Alright." You say, putting the notebook with your own school materials. "See you tomorrow, sensei."

You are now standing in front of the gym.

You look through the windows in the gym door and see the volleyball team practicing. They look really busy. Maybe you shouldn't disturb them.

Bokuto forgot his notebook in class this day and the teacher asks you to give it back to him. You end up leaving it outside of the gym because he looked busy. I want you to go into the gym and hand it to him. (he is in a mode that you will soon learn about when you enter the gym. please encourage him.)

You quickly shake your head of that when you remember the letter. Damn. The letter has to be real! It said you wouldn't want to bother them. It knew what you were thinking.

But could it have been a lucky guess on their part? The real test, at least you hope this will help you decide if it's real or not, is this mode of Bokuto's that the letter talked about.

When you look up, you see Bokuto totally trample a member of his team on accident. That looks like it would hurt to be the other player.

You open the gym door to give him his notebook but once Bokuto gets up he has his back to everyone. "Guys...I don't deserve to be on the court."

What?

Bokuto speaks dramatically, "I'm sorry, Konoha! Akaashi, you shouldn't toss to me anymore!"

The letter said to encourage him. You must do what it said. Maybe it will help you find out what the hell a mode means.

"Bokuto-san?" You question out by the door as it shuts behind you.

Bokuto turns around to see you, "(l/n)! You shouldn't see me like this! I'm not good enough!"

You reply, "Bokuto-san, it was only an accident."

"I could have prevented it!" Bokuto continues exclaim dramatically.

The whole team watches how you interact with him.

"You couldn't have prevented it if you didn't know you were going to do that. I'm sure he doesn't even care you did that." You respond to Bokuto, trying your best to encourage him as the letter ordered you.

"Yeah," Konoha, who was trampled on, quickly steps in, "how could you have known? It's alright! I forgive you!"

What, is this a group effort? Although, Bokuto does seem pretty torn up. Konoha seemed to respond rather urgent too. Is this what happens on the daily?

"How can you forgive me so easily! I betrayed you!"

"Bokuto-san," Akaashi interrupts, "you didn't do it on purpose. Everyone forgives you. Let's continue with practice please."

You continue to encourage him, "Yeah! Besides, how can you show me how cool you are when you play volleyball if you don't play it for me? You always talk about it. I would love to see you play!"

"Very cool!" Shirofuku adds at the last minute.

Suzumeda adds, "You look super cool!"

Bokuto pauses a minute.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! I do look cool when I play!" Bokuto exclaims, "Let's show (l/n) how we play!"

You smile big at his comment, how precious is he?

Now that you roped yourself into his practice from encouraging him, you sit down onto the bleachers to watch. "Does he do that often?"

"Some days are better than others. Thanks for coming in here to lift him back up. His emo mode can be a handful sometimes." Shirofuku responds to you.

"Emo mode?" You question back with your head titled.

"It's when he lowers himself down to dust and hates himself temporarily until we or volleyball lift him up again. You didn't know he had an emo mode? What did you come in here for?"

The letter is true. It has to be your future self. The letter knows what you're thinking before the 'regret' is presented to you and it knows what is going to happen. It somehow knew Bokuto was going to break down and need help. To be this specific, you have to have seen it before. You can't make this stuff up!

"I-I came here to drop off Bokuto-san's notebook. The teacher wanted me to drop it off to him." You respond, putting your gaze onto Bokuto. "It has our homework in it."

"Oh. Do you mind if I ask your name?"

"I'm (l/n) (f/n)."

Suzumeda, nearby, speaks up, "That's you?"

"Yes. Did something happen?" You question her as you see Bokuto spike a ball.

As soon as he did it he cheered and turned to you, "Did you see that, (l/n)?! How cool was that?!"

"Yeah! That was really cool! I need to see it again!" You quickly encourage him. Once he looked away you brought you attention back to the girls with you.

"No, nothing happened." She responds, "Bokuto-san just talks about you a lot."

You? He talks about you a lot?

"Bokuto-san talks about me? What does he say?"

"All good things! All good things!" Shirofuku quickly assures, "Bokuto-san just thinks you're really cool."

You reply, surprised, "Really? I don't think I'm all that exciting."

"Bokuto-san thinks you are."

Hmph.
