All That Matters

Chapter 5

-Next Morning-

I woke up and seen my mom packing her bags. "Mom you're leaving today?" I asked "Yea, I leave in an hour." she said. I nodded and walked towards the restroom. I quickly took a shower and got out. I changed into some jeans and black sunflower crop top. I walked to the living room and I took a seat on the couch. I heard someone knock on the door. I quickly got up to answer it. Justin was standing at the door with Selena and Pattie. "Great." I thought. "Come on in." I said opening the door wider. They walked in and took a seat on the couch. "I hope you don’t mind us stopping by we wanted to say goodbye to your mom before they came and picked her up." "It's fine I'm glad you're here." I said. My mom and Pattie talked while Justin and Selena were lovey dovey on the couch. After an hour we heard a honk outside. They were here to pick up my mom. She said goodbye to everyone. She got into the car and it drove away. "Thank you for everything." I said to look at Justin. "I'm glad to help." he said smiling. "Well I'll see you guys later." I said walking away. "Wait Jaiden can we talk?" Justin asked me. "There's nothing to talk about so just leave me alone." I said. I didn’t go back home, I walked to the lake where Justin and I would go as kids. I liked to come here to think about things and to forget about the world. Ever since Justin left 7 years ago no one but me ever came here. I sat down next to the lake and threw sticks while I cleared my head. I started humming Rihanna's Take a Bow. I really missed singing but I promised myself I wouldn’t sing ever again after it tore my family apart. I heard the bushes moving, I turned around and seen Justin making his way to me. I sighed and continued throwing sticks at the water. He took a seat next to me and wrapped his arm around me. "Go away Justin." I said "This is my lake to you know." "I know but it's occupied right now." "Jaiden what's wrong? Did I do something wrong?" "How about the fact that you lied to me and you told me that I matter to you last night." "Jaiden I wasn’t lying, you do matter to me. Remember how you wanted to talk about what happened before I left? Well I want to talk about it." "Well it's too late now I've moved on from it." "How can you move on so quick, just yesterday you told me you almost kissed me." "That's before I remembered you had a gorgeous girlfriend." "Jaiden." "No Justin just forget about last night and the day you left it was a mistake all of this is a mistake. I should have not forgiven you." I said truthfully. "Look I promise to pay you back every penny of my mom's rehab some way somehow, just leave me alone. I don’t want to ruin your relationship with Selena." I say honestly "Jaiden I just got you back." " I don’t want to make you choose between Selena and I because I know you'll choose her and I know this makes me bad of a friend but you stopped talking to me for 7 years, I think you can manage pretending I'm just another fan and forget about me." I said getting up and walking away. I walked over to Ryan and Chaz's house. I didn’t need to knock because I basically lived here. I walked in and seen the guys playing video games. "What's up boys?" I said getting a controller and playing. They paused the game and gave me a weird look. "What?" I said "You never play unless there's something up." "Seriously." I said They both nodded and continued looking at me. "Fine, Justin and I almost kissed." I said "And?" Chaz asked "we were about to kiss when Selena showed up." I said sadly. Chaz looked at Ryan and high fived him. "Why are you guys high fiving?" I asked "Because ever since we were little we knew you guys liked each other." "Well you guys must be dumb if you actually think anything would happen between Justin and I. I talked to him this morning and I told him to forget about me and forget I ever existed in his life." "are you serious?" Ryan asked I nodded "Jaiden all Justin does is care about you. You know all those times you asked if he would mention you on our phone calls? We talked about you all the time. He never stopped talking about you, the reason we told you he never asked was because he asked us not to tell you. He knew he wouldn’t be back for years so he wanted you to move on." Chaz explained "And you guys didn’t think of telling me this before!" I said "He asked us not to!" Ryan said "Oh so if I asked you to jump off a cliff you would do it?" I asked "No!" Ryan said laughing. "You better fix things with Justin." Chaz said "No, if he wanted me to forget him then I will. tonight." "Tonight? What's tonight?" They asked "We are throwing a party." I said happily. I knew Chaz and Ryan couldn’t say no to a party. I knew Justin would never leave his superstar girlfriend for me so might as well forget about him and start all over.
