Adrien held his hand out to Marinette and helped her into the boat, she was still so very cautious about getting wet and she clearly was not wearing the right outfit to be out on a boat... At least it was just a paddle boat... "Last time I saw her was here... But I was in the middle of the sea when she found me and warned me about not going back into it..."

"If she warned you not to go back into the sea... Why are you doing it?" Marinette crossed her arms as she questioned him. Adrien grew silent for a minute before looking up seriously and saying "I have to see her again... She's... She's so beautiful... I want to get to know her..." This time it was Marinette who grew silent... He thought she was beautiful? She couldn't help but feel a little flustered. Marinette gazed out at the sea and at her refection, she knew these waters better than any sailor, fisherman or pirate. Afterall... She was the reining queen of the sea... How could she not know these waters inside and out?

She kept completely centered in her seat on the boat as it rocked forward and backwards over the waves and she looked quite tense, what if Adrien was to spot another mermaid? She was completely putting everything at risk... Adrien looked away from the tiny waves below them and looked at Marinette, his face immediately dropped when he saw her looking so distraught. He completely stopped rowing, placed the rows at the side of him on his seat and took her hand in his.

"Mari?... Tell me what's wrong..." She looked startled for a moment, she hadn't noticed Adrien looking at her and if the fact that he had noticed her looking so tense AND was holding her hand... Well how was she to respond?

"I just... I don't do so well with water... I can't get wet..." Adrien frowned "Marinette, I'm so sorry... I was only thinking of myself... H-here, use this!" he took of his coat "It's waterproof and your smaller than me so it'll be big... It'll pretty much cover all of you so you won't get wet. I'm so sorry I didn't consider the fact you might not have liked the water..."

"Well" she started "It's not that I don't like the water... It's absolutely beautiful, as are the creatures that live within it... But, I just can't touch it..." She couldn't believe how understanding of this situation he was being, it made her smile knowing that, he cared about her enough to give up his warmth, his own coat to save her... She saw a glimmer of her city under the water and knew she had to turn him around before the mer-guards saw the boat and attacked.

"Adrien, we're so far out... I don't like it... Can we go back please?..." He stopped and stared at Marinette for a moment before lightly sighing and nodding

"Of course Marinette... Thank you for coming out here with me. I really do apreciate it."

They began to row back to shore and once they had finally re-approached the docks, Adrien climbed out and held out his hand to help Marinette, she carefully climbed out and stood hand in hand with Adrien "Thank you again Marinette..." He kissed her cheek and waved before walking away and Marinette's face turned a florescent shade of pink.

'I guess some things are worth the risk...'
