We raced towards the entrance, and the grunts glanced at us. "Well lookie what we have here, you're back!"

Daisy rolled her eyes. "You guys, again?"

The other one smiled. "That's right! Team Rocket is in full swing now, kiddo!"

I wondered what he meant, and then his walkie-talkie began to go off. "Commence the invasion of Saffron City! Secure Silph Co! Proton and I are moving in!" A female voice shouted from the device.

"You guys get out of here, or we'll defeat you in a battle!" Daisy threatened, holding out Tyrogue's Poké Ball.

The men rolled their eyes. "I don't think you get it, kid. We're invading a city, it's not just us two anymore." As he said this, three more Team Rocket grunts emerged from the gate.

"Now how's about some revenge?" The first grunt said. Each of the members took Poké Balls from their belts.

"Uh on second thought, maybe we should... not," Daisy and I turned in sync and bolted back down Route Six.

We didn't stop running until we had reached Vermilion City, then we both almost collapsed.
We spent a few moments catching our breath from the situation.

"This is not good! They're probably up to something nefarious, and it sounds like it involves Silph Co." Daisy said between gasps for air.

Hm... I wonder... I thought. I started to idly sign my stream of consciousness. We could see if Yellow would be able to help, maybe some of the townsfolk in Vermilion could help as well.

Daisy picked up on my train of thought. "Didn't the gym leader train in the military? Let's get his help!"

We raced to the Vermilion City Gym, throwing open the doors to see the Lieutenant cleaning the battlefield. "Huh, what're you two doing here?"

"Where's Yellow?" Daisy scanned the room and Lieutenant Surge rolled his eyes.

"She beat me about five minutes ago and then left." He replied.

Daisy and I shared a confused look. The match had only taken five minutes? "Figured we'd go easy on her, she's had things tough enough."

"What does that mean?" Daisy questioned.

The Lieutenant waved it away. "Listen, what do you both want?"

The question reminded us of the dire circumstances. Daisy told Lieutenant Surge about what we had encountered, and the man dropped his broom onto the ground. "Oh, shit."

Lieutenant Surge raced out of the Pokémon Gym. In the next few minutes, he scrambled to alert as many trainers as he could find about the attack. Then, the man went charging down Route Six.

Daisy and I followed after him, watching as he charged at the Team Rocket Grunts hanging around the entrance. The Lieutenant sent out his Raichu, which snarled at the grunts.

The men looked at each other, and then over at us. "Oh, really? You guys went and tattled?"

"Told you we shouldn't have let them get away." One of the other grunts said.

They took Poké Balls from their belts, preparing to send out Pokémon. "Shuddap! Let's get this guy!"

Surge glanced back at us and motioned to the entrance. "I can handle these babies, you kids are free to stay out of this but I know you're tough. If you're up for it, I'm sure Saffron could use the help."

I looked at Daisy, though I could already imagine what she was going to do. "Let's go, Red! We need to help!"

I signed to her that this was different than before, and we needed to be cautious. Daisy sighed. "Red, this is really important to me. I won't make you go, but you can't stop me."
