Joey burst through the doors, interrupting the scene. "Hey, quick! Turn on the news! You need to see this!"
Blue took out a remote and changed the channel of the screen. It displayed a Championship Battle, Yellow against Solus.
"What a spectacular battle folks! Solus has two Pokémon remaining while Yellow is down to her ace, Pikachu!" The announcer boomed.
Yellow was standing on one side of the field, which was decorated with blue tiles with the white outline of a Pokémon in the middle. Solus was on the other side, smirking as his Rhydon stood over her orange Pikachu. The bipedal beast showed off its stone body, as its tail flicked back and forth.
"Pikachu use Brick Break!" Pikachu dashed forward and threw herself into the air, chopping down on Rhydon's head. The rock type faltered, but then it slammed Pikachu into the wall with its tail.
Pikachu jumped from the wall and started to run forward. "Pikachu, use Surf!" Yellow shouted. Her Pikachu took out a surfboard from its back and then jumped on it, the surfboard started floating and flew forward.
Once Pikachu was close enough, she grabbed the surfboard from the back and flipped it over her head. A blue sphere appeared on the bottom of the board and Pikachu slammed it into Rhydon's head. Rhydon collapsed onto the ground as it was doused with water.
Yellow pumped a fist in the air. "Way to go Pikachu! We can win this!"
Daisy put her hands on her hips. "That Pikachu is something, huh?"
Blue nodded. "Pikachu was her first Pokémon. If I remember correctly, she broke out of a Pokémon Breeding organization that was attempting to breed the perfect Pikachu,"
The battle on the TV continued. Solus shook his head as he called back Rhydon. "Don't be so sure! Gyarados will defeat you!" Solus sent out the aquatic serpent and it snapped its massive maw at Yellow's Pokémon.
"Pikachu use Fly!" Pikachu produced balloons and ascended into the air. She landed on Gyarados's head and removed the balloons.
"Shake it off!" Gyarados shook his head rapidly back and forth to no avail. Pikachu held on tight and Solus began to panic.
Yellow snapped her fingers. "Now show them your Thunder!" Electricity exploded from Pikachu, frying Gyarados. The serpent screeched as the electricity coursed through him before he fell over. In one move, Gyarados had been beaten.
Solus's eyes widened. "I lost... I LOST? NO! NO!" Solus began to screech. He started letting out so many curses that Blue had to mute the TV.
Yellow smiled at Pikachu and they hugged each other, laughing and jumping around joyfully. 'We won! We won!' She mouthed.
I was glad that Solus had finally been defeated, but now I'd have to go up against Yellow. Charmeleon had barely won the two on two, and I was sure she'd be using her ace team to defend her title. I don't know how I'll win. That's if I even got past the Elite Four.
Suddenly the news broadcast changed and Blue un-muted it. "This is breaking news. Lavender Town is under siege by Team Rocket! Their motives are unknown, but police are scrambling to get a team together." As the reporter gave the story, I locked eyes with Daisy.
They want something. We need to figure out what they're up to! Daisy heard what I was saying and nodded. "Blue, can you heal Red's team?"
Blue seemed to freeze for a second. "Oh, you want to head over there?"
We both nodded, and he sighed. "I'd go with you but... I don't think I should leave this place alone." Joey took my Poké Balls and went to the back of the room.
