Daisy and I walked down the hill towards Saffron City. Route Five was home to a few wild Pokémon, as well as the Pokémon Daycare. There weren't any highlights on the route, and I was in a hurry to get to Saffron City.
I had always heard stories about how Saffron City was the highlight of the Kanto Region. A massive city full of history that brought in trainers from far and wide. It had been the site of many legendary battles, including housing the old Pokémon League.
We approached the gate to enter Saffron City. "I heard that sometimes, they won't let you through unless you give them a drink," Daisy whispered as we walked past the man city at the desk in the center of the gate.
Huh... I guess I can relate. It must get pretty boring sitting here all the time. The matte white room had a small monitor that was showing various news updates. Apparently, Solus was going to be taking the fight to Team Rocket.
Daisy and I hurried past the man and into the city, taking in the beautiful location.
There were large apartment buildings on our sides, further down on the left was the subway to Johto's Goldenrod City. On our far right were the battle dojo and the Saffron City Gym. The two locations had once competed to become gyms after the Pokémon League moved out of Saffron.
In front of us was a long row of houses and apartment buildings, as well as the Poké Mart. The city was draped in golden bricks that contrasted with the dark grey roads. Silph Co towered over all the other buildings. The massive company building was where most of Kanto's technology was developed and produced.
We wandered down the streets, trying to find the Pokémon Center. "Now this is a city!" Daisy marveled. We began going to the Pokémon Center, staring at all the highlights of the city. There were so many people moving through the city and all sorts of attractions being advertised or lining the location.
This is such a beautiful city! I marveled at the golden bricks. Sunlight reflected off of them and drew my attention. "Man, you're taken with this place," Daisy observed. "Let's get to the Pokémon Center and check in with our families, then I want to check out the Fighting Dojo!"
We hustled down the street and over to the red-roofed building. The interior of the center was packed with trainers, many were chattering about battles against Sabrina. There were also a few mentions of how Yellow had been through the city recently.
I set my eyes on the PC and saw the same man as I had seen in Viridian fighting with the machine. We strolled up to him as I banged his hand into the computer. "Come on, come on!" The screen flickered on, and he turned and high-tailed it out of the Pokémon Center.
Daisy and I looked at each other and shrugged. I replied to the most recent message from my mother and then Daisy did the same for Professor Oak. After that, we had our Pokémon restored and hurried to the Fighting Dojo.
The dojo was located right next to the Saffron City Gym. Compared to the gym, the dojo was very run down. The place was mostly wooden, and it all looked as though it had been built a long time ago.
The Fighting Dojo used to be very popular among fighting trainers, but its popularity slowly died off, leaving only the founder, Karate Master Kiyo.
We walked inside the building to find Kiyo sitting cross-legged with his arms crossed and eyes closed. The man was seated on the other end of the dojo, showing off his toned body.
The inside of the dojo was a simple room with a wooden floor and no obstacles, the only interesting thing was the two walls protruding from the opposite sides of the entrance. Creating a sort of second room.
