Truth be told, I don't care what happens to me.
I can feel the worst imaginable pain and still be numb. But others go through a little bit and completely lose control because of it.
The world outside passed by quickly as the train went on down the tracks. It was lonely when I looked beside or across from me. Usually I'd have four others along with me but now, its just me. Not that it really bugs me.
Eventually the train came to a halt and I stepped off of it. Crowds of people were pushing and shoving each other around as I just slipped through since I didn't have to wait for anyone else. Once I was passed them I kept walking without a glance back. My goal is to now find the mayor, who was the person that sent the request.
I walked through the streets for a while until I heard a loud scream come from behind me. I turned quickly and held my fists up. They gave off a light blue aura as someone dressed in all black with a red hat ran out of a building. He had a bag slung over his shoulder. As soon as he caught sight of me he turned the other way and began to run. I held my hands together.
"Ice Make: Hammer!" I trusted them in front of me as a giant ice hammer appeared above him. In an instant he looked above him and held his hand up. Before my attack hit him it shattered into millions of small pieces. I gasped and watched as he continued to run. It took a second for my mind and body to reconnect and let me begin running as well. I chased him two blocks until he came to a dead end alley. I walked in behind him and blocked the only exit.
He turned around to look at me with a wilded smile. His eyes scanned over me.
"Oh. Just you? Where are all your friends?" Instead of answering I put my hands together again.
"Ice Make: Lance!" Once again he held his hand up above him and shattered my attack.
"Don't you realize you can't hit me? I control the cold attacks. So water, snow, ice and even wind. Your powers are useless compared to me." I growled and went to do another attack until he started running toward me. It shocked me and made me freeze up. Suddenly his face was in mine. The last thing I saw before his attack was the darkness in his eyes and the smile that was too big for his face.
I had been sent flying through the air. As soon as I hit the ground the wind was knocked out of me. I sat up quickly and began to cough as dust, dirt and even a little bit of gravel flew up around me. Once I had finally calmed down I saw him standing a couple feet away.
"What? Is that it? You're done already?" I slowly stood back up on my feet. As soon as I did he tilted his head down.
"Oh? Looks like I have underestimated you. You're still willing to stand." He looked back up as he started running once again. This time I punched the ground making a strip of ice spread out around me in all directions. I looked up to see him skating across it with ease.
"What?" I gasped in shock as it didn't even faze him.
"Do you not remember? I control all that is cold." He began laughing as all the ice changed over to water and lifted up into the air. I held my arms up above me as it came raining down.
"Ice Make: Shield!" The liquid hit it and left no dents in it. Until he started laughing and held his hand out. I felt a strong force moving me but I wasn't giving in to it. I dropped down to one knee and looked over to him. The rain kept coming from above as the wind was pressing against my side.
"Just give it up!" He forced me out from under my shield and into the rain. As soon as it hit me I realized that it was no longer water. I laid on the ground as the hail and sleet hit me.
"Come on. This isn't fun if you give up already. Now stand!" I glared back at him and pulled my arms over underneath of me. I forced myself up to my feet and within the same instant all the attacks stopped.
"Fire Dragon: Iron Fist!" I spun around just in time to see Natsu hitting him from behind. The burglar fell to the ground, unconscious. Natsu looked up at me and smiled.
"Guess I went a little over board." He started laughing a little as he rubbed the back of his neck. Lucy, Erza and Happy walked over as well. Lucy waved to me before picking up the bag of stuff he was holding. A teenage girl had suddenly ran over to her.
"Thank you guys so much! That guy had just broke into my house and was stealing all of my jewelry." Lucy smiled to her and handed to bag to her.
"Glad we could help out. Here ya go." The girl thanked her and took the bag into her arms. She held it close to her and turned to me.
"Thank you." Then she spun to Natsu. "You too. This stuff has been in my family for generations and if any one found out it had been stolen I'd be in serious trouble." We all waved to her as she walked off. As soon as she had gone Erza walked up in front of me.
"You okay?" I nodded and nervously looked away from her and to the guy on the ground.
"I'm going to go inform the mayor that the thief has been caught. Lucy you can come with me." She looked surprised for a moment but then agreed.
"Should we take him with us?" Erza nodded and told Lucy to summon Taurus to carry him. She did as told and the three walked away. I looked around at all the rubble and sat back down. My arm was insanely sore and I have no clue why. I went to put my other hand on but ended up hissing and pulling it away.
"Whoa are you alright?" Natsu began walking over and stood in front of me.
"Take off your jacket." He ordered me but I just sat in shock.
"Why?"
"Because I want to make sure that it isn't anything severe now remove it. C'mon you've never had trouble taking off your clothes before." I looked down to the ground and began to pull it off. I sat it down on the ground next to me.
"Gray." He kneeled down and gently grabbed ahold of my wrist. With the other hand he grabbed the sleeve of my shirt and pushed it up. Blood was flowing down my arm at an insane pace.
"He got you really good." I finally pulled my eyes away from my arm to look at him. He stood with an intense look of worry in his eyes. I shook his grip of of me and winced at the pain. I began reaching for my jacket again to pull it on.
"You need to get that checked out." I sighed and stood up.
"I'm fine." Its true. I was. Because being in pain was a good feeling for me. I enjoyed finally being able to feel something. I stood and began walking towards the train station.
"Gray!" I looked back to him and smiled weakly.
"You three split the award. I didn't do anything to deserve it."
