Nico's POV
I walked to my cabin when I saw Alex packing. She turned and smiled. She walked towards me and hugged me.
"Will you miss me when I go?" Alex asked.
"No." I answered.
"Rude!" She said but I smiled.
"You're really not gonna miss me??" She sounded disappointed.
"Well... No. I can't miss you, if I'm going with you...." I said.
"You're going?!" Alex exclaimed. "No, I can't let you go on this death trap of a quest."
"You.... Hypocrite." I joked
"I am not a hypocrite!" She said.
"You are..."
"Am not!"
"Are too."
"Am not!!"
"First, you wanted to go on this 'death trap of a quest'. Then when Percy said you can't, you argued and decided to go anyway. Now I wanted to go, you said I can't and now I decided to go."
"That's because I care about you!" Alex said.
"And Percy cares about you!" I said.
"He has no right!" Alex said.
"And you have no right either!" I said. "Are you not seeing what I'm seeing?! This is the exact same thing!"
"Fine! Go if you want to!" Alex yelled and walked out.
"Ugh... Alex..." I mumbled as I chased her.
When I walked out of the room, she was already gone. I walked around camp, looking for her. When I met Percy.
"Hey, did you talk to her?" He asked.
"Yeah.... Sort of..." I said.
"Where is she?" He asked.
"Kind of why I walked around camp looking for her..." I said.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Like I said... She has a temper..." I said.
"And?"
"We got into a fight..." I said. "No worries, I'll go make up with her."
"That's what you said last time..." He frowned.
"Yeah. Yeah. I know. I'll just go find her. You know where she is?"
"No. You should probably ask Thomas." He said.
"Why Thomas?"
"Well, for one, he can be trusted, and two, he's not the best liar."
"Good point." I said as I ran to the archery range. That child of Apollo has got to be there right? And I was right...
"Thomas!!" I said.
"Yeah what's up?" He answered.
"Where's Alex?"
"U-um. Uh.. I-i-i don't know." He stammered.
"Thomas. Where. Is. Alex?" I said.
"I-i-i don't know..." He said.
"You're not the best liar... We all know that... Just tell me..." I said.
"She's at the beach." He said.
"That's outside the border!" I said. "Why didn't you stop her?!"
"Why?" He asked.
"Being the child of the next prophecy, means she has a 'kill me' sign on her back, and all of the monsters can see that." I said. "Cover for me!"
"I'm not the best liar!" Thomas yelled before I left, not listening to what he has to say.
I ran outside the borders and went straight to the beach. A surge of relief came to me when I saw that she is alone, just lying in the sand, no monsters.
I walked to her slowly. She was wearing a green bikini, which I'm not quite sure why, cause it's 4 in the afternoon, but it matches her eyes though. She has her sunglasses on her forehead and her sword next to her, covered with a towel.
"Hey." I said.
"How'd you find me?" She asked.
"Trusting an Apollo kid? You did good. Trusting them with a secret? You did bad." I said.
"Why?" She asked.
"Apollo, god of truths.." I said and she looked up to me. "They're not good liars..."
"Well that explains a lot." She scoffed.
I took of my jacket and I sat next to her. She just looked at me and smiled. She puts on her sunglasses and laid back.
"Listen. I'm sorry I called you a hypocrite, but you can't say that you don't see, what Percy did to you, is that you are doing to me." I said.
She sat up, and took of her sunglasses. She sighed and looked straight into my eyes.
Damn, her eyes are gorgeous.
"You're right." She said.
"Excuse me, what was that?" I smiled and she hit me in the arm and laughed.
"I said. You're right." She smiled. "I was selfish, I was wrong."
"Can you repeat that?" I laughed.
"No. I am not repeating that!" She pushed me, resting her head on my shoulder.
"I'm still going you know.." I said.
"Why? If you're just trying to prove a point, you proved it. Okay? I'll repeat it if you want me to!" She said.
"As much as I want you to, that's not why I'm going. The prophecy said that I need to go. The Cyclopes said so. And the Empousai said so." I said.
"Oh yeah..." She said, remembering our fight with the monsters. "So, who else is going?"
"You, me, Percy, Thalia, Hazel, and Jason." I said. "6 half-bloods, both Roman and Greek, of the eldest gods." I said, reciting the prophecy.
"So, when are we leaving?" She asked.
"2 days." I said.
"Oh, ok." She said as she puts her glasses back on and laid back in the sand.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" I said taking her sunglasses off.
"Lying in the sand, watching a gorgeous sun set." She said.
"We need to go back to camp. Chiron will kill you when he knows you sneaked out." I said.
"Wait. Sneaked out? I can go if I want to." She said.
"Did you asked Chiron permission?" I asked.
"No. But can't I go?" She asked.
"You are a child of the prophecy! You're on lock down, until we go on the quest. All of us are on lock down." I said.
"Why?"
"Gods, you have so much to learn. Being here, outside the borders, means you have a 'kill me' sign on your back." I said.
"Exactly...." A voice said. 5 dracanae stood behind us.
"Oh Styx."
