The next week went by like a whirlwind. Every waking hour Sharna was working on the choreography, whether she was teaching it to Antonio, or changing it to make it work better. Val was a massive help to her this week, not only did he help create the choreography, but he also helped her sleep at night. And she needed the sleep.

The sleep this week was a problem, not only was Sharna scared, the week prior to the finale is also very stressful and that combination didn’t give much sleep. It was the Sunday before the finale and Sharna was in the studio all day. They had camera blocking and in between Sharna and Antonio tried to rehearse as much as possible.

The freestyle looked amazing and Sharna was really happy with her concept. Peta and Mark had both gone for the contemporary feel and Sharna’s freestyle was a lot faster. It would stand out from the other two and Sharna hoped it would be enough for a win. Their redo-dance was going to be their cha-cha. And Antonio improved enormously and Sharna couldn’t be more proud.

That evening Sharna and Val lay in bed.

“Nervous for tomorrow?”
“I’m nervous, but in a good way and I know we are going to kill it.”
Val kissed her on her forehead.

“I also know you are going to kill it. And I want to tell you, I’m beyond proud of you. You worked so hard this season and it wasn’t always easy. And you made sure he grew as dancer. And then all the stress you had the last two weeks. I’m so proud of you and I love you. Remember that.”
“I will definitely remember that. And I love you to.”
The couple started kissing and making out.

The next morning Val woke up and saw Sharna was already out of bed, which was odd, because she rarely woke up before him, let alone leave the bed. Val got up and went to the bathroom, expecting to see her there. But she wasn’t there either and for a moment he got worried. He went downstairs and saw her sitting at the table.

He got a chair and sat down next to her, she was sipping from her coffee, definitely tired.

“How long have you been sitting here?”
“I got up an hour ago.”
“You know your call time is an hour away, right?”
“Yes, but I can’t sleep and I didn’t want to wake you by tossing to around too much.”
“Next time you’re allowed to wake me up. I might be able to bring you back to sleep. If you know what I mean.” Sharna gave Val a small smile.
“There is my girl again, I love to see that smile. I would be smiling as well if I had me as my boyfriend.”

Sharna’s smile grew a little bigger and she playfully slapped him on his shoulder.
“What, you know I’m right.” Val started laughing out loud.
“Well, the reason I always smile is because I’m your boyfriend.”

Sharna put her head on his shoulder and he put his arm around her and kissed her on the top of her head.
“Don’t be nervous for the show, you’ll do great.” They sat together a couple of minutes.

“I’ll make you some breakfast and a new cup of coffee.” Val got up and make her a light breakfast and a strong cup of coffee. Sharna eat it and then they had to leave for the show. Peta and Maks took their own car and Sharna and Val drove separately.

Getting ready for a show was always hard and stressful, but it being the finale was a little bit more stressful. First Sharna and Antonio killed their redo-dance, getting a perfect score. The second round the freestyle was really important. All three finalist had different routes towards the finale and they all tried to highlight it. Sharna and Antonio got another perfect score for their freestyle.

After the show, Val ran up to her and lifted Sharna of the ground.
“You two were amazing, Shar. You killed it.”
“Thank you, I love you.”
“Good luck tonight and call me when you want me to pick you up after you finished. And don’t think about not calling me.”
