The Stalker

Chapter 25

Val was stressing out, it was the 18th of June and he still didn’t know what to get Sharna for her birthday. For his birthday Sharna had bought him a beautiful watch and took him out for dinner at his favorite restaurant. But he had no clue of what to get her.

He was walking around the town they visited at the moment. On other occasions he had bought something he bumped into, so he hoped that would happen as well.

He walked passed a clothes shop and saw a beautiful dress in the window. And he had an idea. He walked into the shop and asked the saleswoman if he could buy the dress. He was lucky he knew her sizes and he bought her the dress. He continued the walking and also bought her pair of shoes matching the dress.

He felt like he had almost everything when he walked past a dogshelter and saw two of the cutest little dogs. He got in and bought them. He agreed with the owner that they would pick up the dogs on 21st of June. He know had the idea he had the perfect gift.

On the 21st of June Val woke Sharna with kisses on her face and neck. Sharna woke with a smile on her face.

“Happy birthday, my beautiful girlfriend.”
“Thank you.” Val got out of his bed.
“What are you doing stay in bed.”
“I’m going to make you breakfast and then I’m going to give you your gifts. So stay in bed, don’t move and I’ll be right back.”

Sharna waited in bed until Val returned with the breakfast. Together they ate breakfast and in bed. After breakfast Val got out his first gift that day. The shoes he had bought her. Sharna put them on and hugged Val.
“They are beautiful, thank you so much.”

Sharna was happy that on the day of her birthday, the boys would perform in LA. That we she didn’t have to celebrate her birthday in a hotel room. A lot of their friends and family would come to visit the show tonight and this would be followed by a birthday party.

They went downstairs and met with Peta and Maks. They would go out shopping and going out for lunch together. Peta and Maks were already waiting for them and Peta hugged Sharna when she was downstairs.
“Congratulations beautiful girl. Let’s celebrate another great year coming up.”

The lunch was great, but after that it was time for the boys to get to the theatre and prepare for another show. The girls would follow them later. It was a beautiful day and they wanted to sit on the terrace a little longer and enjoy the weather and the sun.

Their friends and family one by one joined them and they celebrated Sharna’s birthday. They got into the theatre and sat down next to each other to enjoy another show. The opening dance was finished and this was the moment when Val and Maks would welcome the audience. They did, just like other times.

But this time after the welcome, Val took up the microphone and started speaking.

“I want to take this moment to celebrate this day with someone who is really special to me. For some time now I have been dating the most amazing girl in the world and today happened to be her birthday. So I’m going to call her out on stage right now, my amazing girlfriend, Sharna Burgess.”

Sharna’s face turned red when she heard him call her out. The thing she wanted to do most was hide, but Peta, sitting next to her, pushed her out of her chair. Sharna walked up to the stage and the audience cheered.

Val helped Sharna on stage and kissed her, getting a roar from the audience.
“So I think we should all sing for her, to wish her a happy birthday.”

The entire audience sang for her and when they were finished Sharna kissed Val again. He dipped her down and the audience started to cheer louder.

Sharna returned to her seat and the show continued. After the show Sharna joined Val backstage and he pulled her with her to his dressing room. He wanted a little privacy for the next gift.

“Hey, what are we doing?”
“You are wearing your new shoes, right?”
“Yes, of course, I love them.”
“Well, I got you something else.”

Val opened his closet and inside hung a beautiful dress.
“I want you to wear this tonight, when we go out for dinner. I bought it for you a couple of days ago and I think it would look beautiful on you.”
“Thank you Val, I love you.”

Sharna pulled off her clothes and she stepped into the dress. She pulled it up and turned around, her back facing Val.
“Can you zip me up?” Val took a step closer and zipped up Sharna. He put his hands on her shoulder and turned her around.
“Happy birthday.”

They passionately kissed and were interrupted by Peta opening the door.
“Whoops, sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb. Are you ready to go to dinner? Everybody is waiting.”
Val let go of Sharna and got his jacket.

“Wow! Sharna, is that a new dress, it is beautiful. Where did you buy this?”
“It is a gift from Val, he bought it for tonight.”
“Oh my, Val that is an amazing gift. Can you teach your brother how to buy good gifts. Cause this is one of the best I have ever seen.”
“I will tell him.”

Val put his arm around Sharna’s waist and together they walked towards the rest of their family and joined them for dinner. They had an amazing time. Val checked his watch at some point and saw it was time for him and Sharna to leave and get her last gift.

He tapped Sharna on her shoulder.
“We have to go.”
“Why? We haven’t finished dinner yet.”
“I got one last thing for you, but we need to be there at a certain time. Afterwards we’ll come back, don’t worry.”
Val and Sharna got up.
“Hey where are you two going?” Peta asked.
“I have no idea,” Sharna said. “But I did hear we’ll come back later.”

The two of them left the restaurant and started walking.
“Can you please tell me where we are going?”
“You’ll see.”

When they arrived at the dogshelter, Sharna was confused. She didn’t know what to expect. Val got inside and Sharna followed him. He was greeted and Val and Sharna followed the man inside.

In a cage there were two dogs, playing together.
“Here are the dogs.”
“Val, what does this mean?”
“I heard you and Peta talked about getting a dog and when I walked past this dog shelter a couple of days earlier I bought two, for us. Sharna meet our new family members.”

Sharna jumped into Val’s arms.
“Thank you so much. I love them. This is the best gift someone has ever gotten me.”

The door from the cage opened and the dogs ran towards their new owners. Meanwhile Val arranged everything with the owner of the dog shelter and bought the necessary stuff.

“Are you ready to go?” The dogs were put on their leash and Val and Sharna walked with them back towards the restaurant.

At the restaurant everybody was waiting for their return and when they saw them, everybody got up and wanted to see the little dogs. Val was showing them to everybody and they all loved the little dogs. They were excited because of all the attention they got.

After dinner, which happened until very late that evening, Val and Sharna returned home. They decided it would best for the dogs to have their own place. So Val and Sharna went to Sharna’s place. They had stayed there more often in the last couple of weeks. Sharna had become less scared being there. She hadn’t had any phonecalls anymore, nor did she get any pictures or other mail.

The two dogs already loved the place and were jumping all around.
“Now I got two dogs to protect me when you are away on tour.”
“I don’t think they really are of the protective type.”
“Well, maybe they will become more protective.”

At this moment they were jumping up and down the couch, enjoying their new surroundings.

“Thank you so much, once again, for this amazing birthday.”

They got into bed and they cuddled close to each other.
