"Hi," says a voice.

I look up to see a stranger that I've never seen before or maybe one that I haven't noticed. He gave me a huge grin which gave me the creeps. He looks like he's around his thirties. He's slightly dark and his face looks like he hasn't shaved in a while. I choose to ignore him.

He keeps going on and on but I continue to ignore him.

"Can't you see that I'm talking to you," he says with anger in his voice.

"Can't you see that I don't want to talk to you."

Suddenly, he held my wrist. I try to get out of his grip but I fail. I notice everybody watching me but not one soul comes by to help out.

That's when I see Jason enter, he smiles when he sees me but it immediately fades away and his face is flush with anger when he sees the guy.

Before I could comprehend what was happening, Jason punched the guy and said,"She's my girl. Don't you dare touch her again. If I ever see you anywhere near her, you're dead."

The guy wipes the blood away from his lips and starts to leave.

"Are you alright?" Jason asks.

I nod my head and give him a hug. He runs his hands through my hair and says,"From now on, you're going to come with me in my car. It doesn't matter if anyone finds out, we'll deal with that later."

"But-" and before I could finish, he places his finger on my lips and says, "No buts. You're coming with me and that's the end of it."

I give him a smile.

We arrive at our office and head to our desks. Once I finish my work, I walk over and stop myself a few feet from his desk when I notice him talking to a women around my age. She's tall with an hourglass figure and sun-kissed complexion. She twirls her long blonde locks as her blue eyes glow. Her skin was perfect, it was so clear. She's like one of those women who makes you feel like you're nothing compared to them.

A voice suddenly pulls me back.
"Laura," Jason says.

As soon as I walk over, Jason pulls me in and puts his hand around my waist from behind.

"Kat, this is my girlfriend Laura and Laura, this is my ex Kat."

"Kat?" I ask.

They both smile and she says, "Katherine. He's just used to calling me Kat."

Just great. Why couldn't he just call her by her full name? His ex has a pet name even now and I'm just Laura.

"How's your husband?" I ask.

"Laura-" and before Jason could finish Katherine said, "It's alright Jase. She doesn't know. We recently got divorced."

Jase? What a horrible pet name. Who calls anyone that? As if things aren't bad enough, she had to get divorced.

They both continue to talk as if I never existed, I started to feel out of place. I walk over to my desk without interrupting them. I start to walk forward and backward, lost in my thoughts. Suddenly, I crashed into someone. I look up and see Jason.

"Are you alright? I'm sorry that I made you feel out of place. You're not upset, are you?" Jason asks

"I'm fine."

"Fine basically means the opposite. Talk to me."

"I don't know what's wrong. After seeing her, I feel like I'm nothing beside her. She looks perfect unlike me. You guys even have pet names for each other. On top of that, she's just got divorced."

He laughs and says, "You've got absolutely nothing to worry about. Nobody is perfect, you're amazing as you are. I've never called her by her name, we've gotten used to calling each other that way and I didn't mean to call her like that now but trust me it doesn't mean anything. It doesn't matter if she's a divorcee, it isn't going to change anything."

I smile and plant a kiss on his cheek.

He smiles and says, "What was that for?"

"It's for being so adorable." I say with a smile.

"I could do that more often and is that all I get?" he asks with a smirk on his face.

I narrow my eyes.

He smiles and says, "Didn't you have some rules?"

"Yeah I did but I'm allowed to break them, not you."

He moves in closer to my ears making my heart beat faster and whispers, "Rules are meant to be broken and didn't I tell you that you'd break all the rules one by one."

Before I could say anything, my eyes met with Katherine's. I try to pull back but he holds me.
"She's here," I whisper.

He turns back, his face is flustered with embarrassment.

"Katherine, I didn't see you there. I'm so sorry for making you wait." Jason says.

Katherine gives him a plastic smile and says, "That's alright. Laura, can I talk to you alone for a second."

Jason moves aside and Katherine says, "I honestly didn't think I'd be saying this. I came here to take him back even though he introduced you as his girlfriend, I knew you didn't stand a chance. When I came over, I noticed how happy he was and I knew that I didn't have the right to take it away once again."

She's exactly how I thought she was. She's full of herself but she at least understood that he's happy with me.

"Don't ever let him go because if you do, there'll be a lot of others that would be glad to use that opportunity." she says with a smirk.

Did she mean to include herself when she meant others?

She waves goodbye to both of us and leaves.

"What did you guys talk about?" Jason asks.

"That's between us. Let's head home, it's getting late." I say.
