Jason's POV
I continue to call Laura but there is no answer, I've been trying from yesterday to get in contact with her.
Just when I decide to check up on Jenny, I notice her walking towards me.
"When did you come home and how did it go yesterday? And why didn't Laura show up to work after that? She didn't pick up any of my calls either," I say breathing not realizing i've been holding it.
"I came at midnight. We had a wonderful time. Don't worry about that, we were outside the entire day that's why she couldn't come and she must have slept right away, after all it was a tiring day," she says with a smile on her face.
I sigh in relief and start to get ready for work.
Once i reach office, my eyes automatically started to wander searching for Laura but she still hadn't reached the office.
As i pick up to call her again, a voice interrupts me."Sir, it's time to go," says Hunter.
Hunter is one of the few bodguards we have.
"What? And why are you guys here?" I ask.
"Your dad told us to pick you up. We've talked with Peter, everything's settled. Now we'll just have to get going," and with that he motioned the other bodyguards to pick up all the items at my desk.
"I'm not going anywhere," I say as I fold my arms.
"We knew you wouldn't and that's why your dad asked us to call him right away," he says as he starts to dial my dad's number.
"Jason! What is all the fuss about? I need you here right now. Do you understand?" Dad says.
"But dad why couldn't you tell me earlier and why didn't you just tell me to come there instead of sending them?" I ask looking over at Hunter and the others packing my things.
"You know very well why," and with that the line goes dead.
I turn around to face Hunter and say, "I need to say goodbye to a few people."
"We already did that for you, we've told your uncle and aunt and Jenny is already on her way," he says.
They are not the only people.
I knew this was going to happen but i never expected it to happen this way and that too so soon.
All eyes were on me by now. The entire office seemed to be busy gossiping about me but what caught my attention was the way Laura kept staring at me.
Poor Laura. Look at her standing there in disbelief. You could have at least told her everything earlier instead of keeping secrets.
Shut up.
I knew what my conscious was telling me was right but there wasn't anything I could do now. I know I have to explain everything to her but now was not the right time, at least not with everybody staring at us and the bodyguards by my side.
I continue to walk not taking my eyes off her. Once we reach the lift, I take one last look at her and get inside.
The whole two hours ride from LA to San Diego was a silent one where I was preoccupied with my thoughts. I knew that my life was going to change completely now.

I get out of the car and stare at the house in front of me, it was my home. It's where I grew up and had all my childhood memories.
Our house is huge with three floors, there's an enormous place for gardening along with a glass door in the family room to enter the garden.
I missed home. It feels good to be back.
I walk upstairs until I reach the door, I turn the door knob and enter inside.
"Mom. I'm back," I shout as I enter the hallway and I continue to shout until my mom appears in front of me.
Her fair skin looked a little dull and there were dark circles underneath her blue eyes. She tucked her hand at her brown hair which is in a bun.
"There's no need for you to shout like a beggar on the street," says mom.
"Way to greet your son, Mom. I expected that you would come running to me from the kitchen once you heard my voice with tears in your eyes once you saw me."
"You're being way too dramatic Jason. Now, go and keep your luggage upstairs, freshen up and meet me in the kitchen."
Way to greet me, mom.
"First, why don't you tell me why you've been having sleepless nights?" I ask.
For a moment, she looks at me in surprise and then she sighs and says, "I'm worried about you and your dad. Lately, he's been acting differently and the last thing that i want right now is a fight between you and your dad."
"Don't worry about all that. I'm here now, right? I'll take care of everything," I say with an reassuring smile.
She smiles and says, "Now, go and get ready."
"Fine," I mumble, walking upstairs and I notice her looking at me with a smile on her face.
I enter my room and find it to be the way i had just left it. I take a look at the blue painting on the walls which have several quotes hanging on the walls, the trophy case which held all my medals as well as my prized possessions and last but not the least, my guitar was tilted to the side of my bed.
I rummage through my closet, picking a red t-shirt along with black tracks. I take a shower, put on my clothes and head downstairs.
As i walk towards the kitchen, the aroma of my mom's food makes me hungry.
I sneak up behind her and say, "What are you cooking?"
She stumbles back and I hold her.
"Mom, you're getting old. We need to find someone who'd be able to do all this work for you," I say.
She turns to me with a furious look and says, "First of all, anyone would have stumbled if you sneaked up on them and second i'm not old."
"Keep saying that."
"What was it that you were saying Jason? Need to find someone else? Has my son found a girl?" she asks with excitement.
"I was talking about getting a cook," I say rolling my eyes.
"If you say," she says with a smile on her face motioning me to sit down to eat.
We both sit and eat, talking and laughing until we hear footsteps approaching us.
"You've finally decided to grace us with your presence. Oh no wait, I had to force you to come," says dad glaring at me with his deep sea green eyes.
"I'm sorry dad but i'm here now."
He runs his hand through his brown hair which goes well with his tan skin and shakes his head.
"You better be prepared."
