I close the door immediately not allowing my mom to glance inside. I step out and say, "What happened?"
"I just wanted let you know that your dad's friend's son is resting in the next room. So, just lock your door and stay inside."
Thank god. I almost had a heart attack.
My mom didn't trust him at all. It was hard to contain my laughter but I had to.
I feel guilty that he was in my bedroom right now.
Am I doing the wrong thing by staying with him?
My mom interrupted my thoughts as she waved her hand over my face. "Did you hear what I said?"
"Yeah, I'll lock the door."
"Good. Now, I'll just go and check on him. See if he needs anything."
Oh shit. I got to do something fast.
"Mom, they're alll waiting for you downstairs. I'll just knock on the door and tell him, don't worry."
She reluctantly nods and leaves.
I sigh in relief and enter my room. As soon as I enter, I lock my bedroom door.
"Why are you locking the door?" He asks with a smirk. "What are you going to do to me?"
I roll my eyes in disbelief and say, "This is not the time to joke. We would have got caught and I can't even imagine what would have happened."
He holds my shoulders from the back and says, "It's alright. Just take deep breaths."
As I start to take deep breaths, he starts to move my hair to one side again as it was all in a mess.
"Jason! No, not this again." I say as I try to move away but before I could he places his hand over my stomach and pulls me back. I landed right on his chest.
Oh god this guy is just trouble. What is he upto now?
"Let go off me Jason! We need to go right now."
"You know, I really like it when you call me by my name. There's just something different when you say it, I don't know if it's the way you say it or if it's just me. I don't want to let you go. There's something I need to tell you but I guess now is not the right time."
"No, we've got time. Tell me."
He spins me around, lifts my chin up and says, "Now, we've got time?"
I sigh. He goes downstairs first and then I follow him into the kitchen where his aunt was seated at the dining table and my mom was sitting next to her.
"Jason, are you feeling better now?" his aunt asks.
"I don't just feel better, I feel good," he says as he gives me a smirk.
I quickly bend down my head in embarassment.
My mom introduces me to his aunt as well as his uncle.
"It's getting late. We better leave. It was a pleasure meeting you all. I don't usually associate much with my husband's friend's wife but I'm glad I did this time. Anyways, come over to our house sometime." his aunt says to my mom as she starts to get up.
They all wave goodbye and leave.
Why does it feel so empty all of a sudden?
I pull out my phone and call my best friend Danny. I and her go way back. We've known each other since highschool. We went in different directions during college but that never affected our friendship.
It's amazing to have friends with whom you may go a week or so without talking but when you start talking again, the gap never seems to show.
"Laura, you alive?"
"Yeah, I am. Listen, we've got alot if catching up to do. Can I come over to your place now?"
"Yeah, I was just going to call you. No, you can't come over to my place," she says sarcastically.
"I'll be there in 10," I say and hang up the phone."
I walk up to my dad and say, "Dad. Can I please go over to Danny's place?"
"Sure."
That was unexpected. It's really hard to figure out when my dad would say yes and when he would say no.
I grin and run up to my room. I rummage through my closest for an outfit. I pick out a black shirt, black denim and black stole. I throw on my black boots and start to head out.
Once I reach her place, I could hear her dog barking.
"Laura!! It's been so long since you've actually come over."
"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry, we'll meet every week no matter how busy we are."
"Yeah, we should," she said as she directed me towards her room.
I greeted her mom and went into the room. I sat on her tiny bed. Yeah, it's really tiny. When she sent me a picture after she cleaned her bedroom, I asked her where her bed was.
"I need to tell you something important but this should only be between us. I don't want anyone else to know."
"Alright. Go on."
"I have a boyfriend," I squeal.
She starts to laugh and says, "How many times will you use this line on me?"
I give her a disappointed look.
I don't blame her. I've done it alot of times. I just love pranking people, you can't blame me it's fun when they actually fall for it.
"Omg!! Laura, I'm so happy for you. So, who's the lucky guy?"
"Jason. We both work at the same office."
"Picture?"
I take out my phone and show her his picture.
"He's handsome."
"I know. You wouldn't believe what happened today. He came over to my place and we kissed, it wasn't the first time though but it was different."
"How did your dad let a guy into your place? And Laura you seriously did all this while your parents were downstairs? You've got alot of guts. From the innocent and good girl, you've turned into a naughty one now. I need to meet this guy that changed you."
"Yeah, I know I feel really bad but he's so hard to resist and it's starting to scare me. I'm still innocent and a good girl, right?
Of course!""Ohh. You've fallen head over heels for this guy, haven't you? Sure, you are Laura. I don't want to be the third wheel while you guys romance."
"Yeah. Heyy! That won't happen." I say feeling offended.
"That's what they all say."
We both laugh and continue to talk. I tell her everything starting from the day I met him and she tells me about how things are going with her boyfriend. We both talk endlessly.
A/N: I've never done one before so I thought I'd try it out.
