Mia's POV
As I jumped out of Angie's car for my second day back at school, I was surprisingly excited. After the incident with Brendon (I know there seems to be a few) I somehow managed to finish my homework and got a good nights sleep.
I followed Angie into the building where we located out lockers, dumped our unnecessary stuff and headed to Biology. As we sat in our usual seats towards the front of the classroom, I couldn't help recalling Brendon's comment about Biology last night.
Great, now I'm thinking about Brendon again. The way he looked at me with his brown eyes, the small strands of hair that seem to constantly fall onto his forehead, the freckles that are lightly spattered across his nose and cheeks.
I hadn't realised that I had zoned out until Angie gently shook my arm.
"What?" I asked turning to her. She flicked her eyes towards the front of my desk where Mrs Alders was now hovering.
"Oh sorry, what was the question?" I asked Mrs Alders innocently.
"I asked you to tell me an organelle that is found in both Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells." She asked again, with a smug look on her face as she assumed I did not know the answer.
"Well there are a few," I began, gaining some confidence, "There is the cytoplasm/cytosol, DNA and Ribosomes."
She looked taken aback by the fact that I gave her not one but three correct answers. She adjusted her glasses before spitting out a "very good" and returned to teaching the class.
Biology and second period were over and now it was time for Maths again. I both dreaded and looked forward to this class. Dreaded because I stuck out like a sore thumb, Katrina and Brendon and looked forward because, again, Brendon.
I arrived to class a bit early, allowing me to take my seat without any taunts from Katrina. I had about 5 minutes so I pulled out my iPod and listened to some music until class started. After about 2 minutes of listening I felt a tap on my shoulder. I quickly yanked out my earbuds and looked up to see none other than Brendon, that glorious smile plastered across his face.
"My Chemical Romance today?" he said, gesturing to the iPod that lay face up on the desk.
"See, I don't just listen to Fall Out Boy" I replied smugly, crossing my arms over my chest.
Before Brendon could respond, his name wall called from the front of the classroom. I expected it to me Mr Allen but I wasn't even close.
"Brendon!" The squeaky voice filled the air. He moved his gaze from me and towards the sound.
"Hey Katrina" he responded with an overly flirtatious tone.
She giggled whilst swaying her shoulders back and forth.
"Are you going at Michael's party on Friday?" she asked eagerly.
"Um yeah I think I am" Brendon replied, scratching the back of his neck.
"Awesome! I look forward to seeing you there" she said whilst batting her fake eye-lashed eyes.
"Sounds great" Brendon responded with a smile as he stepped closer and ran his hand up and down her arm.
I pulled a disgusted face and stuck my finger in my mouth whilst rolling my eyes. Both Brendon and Katrina caught sight of this and I swear I saw Brendon smirk.
"What's your problem nerd?" she spat towards me. Just then Mr Allen came into class and she returned to her seat, as Brendon walked past me, he gave me a shy smile and took his seat.
What was that about? Of course Brendon is interested in someone like Katrina. He's too good looking for some 'nerd' like me.
