Mia's POV

My eyes slowly opened, and I was shocked to find my room pitch black. I leaned over to my bedside table to check the time. My phone read 1:19. This was slightly earlier than I usually wake up. As I began to shimmy back down into my bed, I realised why I had been woken, I was incredibly thirsty.

As I didn't often have a sudden desire for water in the middle of the night, I had to travel downstairs to get myself a glass and a drink. I quietly snuck out of my room and down the stairs.

Once I reached the kitchen, I continued to quietly retrieve a glass and walked over to the tap. I ran the water slowly as it was quieter that way. I leant back on the island counter as I drank my water. Never had this plain and practically tasteless liquid tasted so good. I even went back for a second glass!

I had almost finished downing the last of the glass when,

"Thirsty huh?"

I jumped, "Jesus Christ!" I exclaimed in a loud whisper.

"I prefer Brendon but I am said to possess the attractiveness of a God so whatever works for you."

Even with only the moonlight lighting the room I could see a giant ass smirk plastered across his face.

"What're you doing here?" I asked as I caught my breath.

"I was thirsty, like you I gather."

"I meant why are you in my house? Are you ever even at home?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Why would I be at home when here," he gestured to the whole house, "Is so much more fun?"

I chuckled lightly and bowed my head before grabbing a second glass from the cupboard and preparing a water for Brendon.

"Thanks" he smiled kindly as he sculled his water, finishing with a satisfying 'ah' noise. While he was drinking I was incredibly distracted by the movements of his Adam's apple. Is that weird? Let's be honest, everything I think is weird.

"Well I don't think I'll be falling asleep anytime soon." I said as I stretched my arms.

"Why is that?" Brendon asked before setting his glass on the island.

"My heart-rate is much too high."

A smirk began to appear on his face.

"Do I make your heart race Mia?" he asked, taking a step closer to me.

(Yes you do but you don't need to know that.)

"W-well you did scare me just now." I responded weakly as his closeness had me feeling almost sick?

"Oh yeah" he took a step backwards and ran his fingers through his hair.

We stood in silence for a few minutes before I spoke again.

"Did you want to maybe watch a movie with me then?"

"Sure" Brendon said as he looked up, revealing a huge smile across his face.

"Cool. Follow me."

I began to head back upstairs and into my bedroom.

"Leading me into your bedroom? Isn't that a bit suggestive?" Brendon asked as he stood in my doorway, wiggling his eyebrows.

"I um" I blushed, "I-it's just that I didn't want to wake anyone and-" I rambled until I was cut off my Brendon placing his hands on my shoulders.

"Relax, it's fine I was just messing around." I smiled weakly up at him before grabbing my laptop from my desk and jumping onto my bed. If I haven't mentioned before, I have a single bed so I had no idea how we would both fit. Realising this I began to remove myself from the bed.

"What're you doing?" Brendon asked, looking slightly confused.

"I just didn't know if there would be enough room for both of us."

"It's fine, I'm not that big."

"Oh alright then." I climbed back onto the bed, sticking as close to the wall as I could.

The bed dipped down as Brendon sat on it next to me. It wasn't until then that I noticed what he was wearing. Just a simple black t-shirt and tracksuit pants, although he could make anything look designer. I must have spent too long admiring his appearance as I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Huh?" I asked, looking up at him, slightly flustered.

Brendon chuckled, "I said you can move closer, I don't bite."

I blushed for the umpteenth time that night and shuffled closer to Brendon. Our arms now touching and I could feel a swarm of butterflies in my stomach.

"Mind if I pick a movie?" he asked and he gestured towards Netflix that was open on my laptop.

"Go ahead." I passed him my laptop and he turned the screen away. "What?" I asked, trying to get a look at what he was doing.

"No peeking," he said as he began to close the lid, "It's a surprise."

"It better not be scary or I will most definitely cry like a baby." Brendon laughed softly before enlarging the screen and clicking play.

I was simultaneously comforted and shocked when I saw the familiar Disney opening sequence appear.

"Disney?" I asked, turning to look up and Brendon.

"Hell yeah! Disney is awesome!"

I smiled to myself and snuggled a little lower into the blankets. Soon the opening to one of my all time favourite Disney movies began playing.

"Aladdin?" I asked, looking up and Brendon once more.

"Is that ok?" Brendon asked nervously.

"It's one of my favourites."

A smile returned to his face as he said "Me too."

Before 'One Jump Ahead' had finished, Brendon had 'stretched' (I wasn't fully convinced that he was genuinely stretching) his arm to lay loosely behind my shoulders.

By the time we were introduced to the Genie, he was almost pulling me towards his chest, not that I was complaining.

It wasn't until 'A Whole New World' that I realised that Brendon had been softly singing along to all the songs. He knew the words perfectly. Not only had he been singing along but also adding a third harmony in some cases. His voice, dare I say it, was even better than the original, softly weaving it's way throughout the recording. I don't remember much after 'A Whole New World' as my eyelids started to droop and I slowly fell back asleep.

Brendon's POV

I must admit that I was a bit worried about my movie selection. Most people know me as more of a tough and out-going guy, and Disney movies weren't necessarily a part of that category. But I knew out of all people that Mia wouldn't judge me, and she didn't.

I tried my best to pay attention to the movie, I swear I did, but Mia was just so much more interesting to watch. The way she unconsciously mouthed the words to all the songs, the tensing of her muscles as I moved beside her, and the constant rosy pink flush on her cheeks.

By the end of 'A Whole New World' I noticed her getting tired. Her posture slumped, her eyelids looked heavy, breathing became more prominent and she gradually leaned closer to me, loosely wrapping her arms around my side and resting her head on my shoulder before falling asleep.

Even though the movie hadn't ended, I closed the lid and carefully placed the laptop under her bed. I reached towards her bedside table and flicked off the lamp. Before I attempted to get some more sleep myself, I placed a light kiss on her forehead and whispered "Sweet dreams".
