Mia's POV
The weekend went by relatively quickly. I kept myself occupied, trying my hardest not to think about Brendon.
Monday morning came around and it was time for school again. It was my first day back since being ill so I was happy to be returning. Or at least I thought I was.
I readied myself for school, Angie picked me up, we arrived at school, and I was making my way to my locker. Before I could get there, I was approached by a certain someone.
No, not Brendon, much worse.
"Hi nerd" Katrina spat at me.
I attempted to duck between where she was standing and the corridor wall, but she moved in front of me, blocking my way.
"What do you want?" I asked nervously.
"I want you to stay away from my man."
I pulled a confused face as I genuinely had no idea what she was talking about.
"I don't know what you mean." I honestly told her.
"Stop playing dumb you stupid bitch!" she snarled, moving closer towards me.
"I don't-" she cut me off by squeezing my cheek with her hand.
"Stay away from Brendon, or I'll tell everyone what you used to get up to in your spare time."
She released my face from my grasp before strutting off, clicking her heels along the floor.
I stood in the hallway, trying to comprehend what had just happened. No one could know about that. She wouldn't dare tell people, would she? Was she really that cruel?
It wasn't until a kid bumped into my shoulder that I was snapped back into reality, and nervously made my way to my first class.
Before long; a class in which I still have mixed feelings for, Maths, rolled along.
I arrived early as per usual so I took my seat and put in my headphones, waiting for the class to fill. I was listening to Blink 182 today.
As the class was almost full, I removed my headphones and prepared my books for the class. Brendon came and sat behind me and not long after Katrina joined him.
"Hey Brendon" I heard her overly fake, squeaky voice say.
"Hi Katrina" Brendon responded with a smile.
"I didn't get to see you at the party last week" she pouted her overdrawn lips.
"So sorry my dear, I must have been preoccupied."
She giggled before continuing, "It's ok. I'm having a party of my own this Friday. I'd love for you to come."
"Sounds great" Brendon responded, not so subtly staring right down her low-cut shirt.
I rolled my eyes before turning to face the front of the class.
Mr Allen came into the room, signalling the beginning of class. I had trouble concentrating. All I could think about was how flirty Brendon was with Katrina. It made me feel guilty for my growing feelings towards him, and stupid to think that he could ever care about me.
Class ended and frankly I was glad. I wanted to be as far away from Brendon as possible. Before I could leave the classroom, Mr Allen called me to the front of the classroom.
"Yes Mr Allen?" I asked politely.
"I was wondering if you would be interested in partaking in a student to student tutoring program. I know it's a bit of extra work but some students would really appreciate the extra help, and you would be sure to benefit from it as well."
I must admit that I had considered tutoring before. I liked to help people and with my strict homework schedule, I had free time to do so.
"I'd love to" I replied with a smile.
"Great! I have a student from our class to set you up with. I'll let him know that you're up for it and get him to work out a time with you." He responded, pleased with my answer.
As soon as Mr Allen said 'him', my mind went to the worst-case scenario, but surely it wouldn't be him. He wouldn't agree to help.
"Sorry, did you say him?"
"Yes, the student is Brendon Urie."
I simply nodded and remained quiet.
"I'll let Brendon know and hopefully you can help him out."
"Ok, thanks" I replied, not nearly looking forward to this as much as I was a minute ago.
