Mia's POV
A few hours passed and it was time for Angela to head home. Having eaten and spent some time with my family, I decided to head upstairs for a shower. I gathered my things from my room and headed across the hall.
The door was ajar, so I assumed it was unoccupied, this is where I was mistaken.
"Woah, ok I'll come back later" I said, hiding my face as Brendon was standing in just a towel which was hanging dangerously low around his hips.
He laughed. "It's ok, I'm done anyway."
I turned back around, keeping my eyes fixed to the floor.
"Something fascinating about the floor?" he asked smugly, taking a step towards me.
"I-I just um"
"Come on Mia, I know you want to take a look, it's only fair after all." Brendon justified.
"What do you mean?" I asked, now looking Brendon in the eyes.
"Well if I recall correctly, you were in a similar position to me only a week ago."
"There seems to be so much déjà vu that I forget" I replied, laughing lightly.
It was then that I accidentally looked away from his face and to the exposed upper half of his body. Like a drug, once I began looking, I couldn't stop.
I took in every detail of his bare chest, the lack of hair, his small but somewhat muscular frame. The way the leftover water droplets clung to and ran down his chest.
I don't know what it was but something compelled me to take a step forward and run a hand down his chest. I could feel the muscles tighten under my touch.
Brendon stayed silent apart from his breathing becoming more frequent and heavier. I ran my hand back up his abdomen, resting it on his peck.
It was then that my senses seemed to return. I jolted backwards suddenly, removing my hand, and rushed out of the bathroom and back into my room.
From the other side of my door I could hear Brendon say and exasperated "Fuck" before I heard him make his way to Jaron's room.
I waited in my room for a minute, the thoughts of Brendon drowning my head, before resuming my original intention of having a shower.
I darted across the hallway into the bathroom, locking the door behind me to ensure I had no unwanted (or maybe they were wanted?) visitors.
I de-clothed and jumped under the warm stream of water. I probably spent 3 times as long as a regular shower as I kept getting distracted with thoughts of Brendon.
I had only just accepted the fact that I did indeed like him, more than just a crush, and now things were getting 'physical'.
I was scared. I had never been in a relationship before, and Brendon's reputation kept nagging at me. Although he seemed to act differently around me, I couldn't help but worry that IF something were to happen, he would revert to his old ways.
I decided to cease wasting water, turning the taps off and jumping out of the shower. I dried myself off, wrapped my hair up in a towel, put my change of clothes on and exited the bathroom.
I secretly hoped for another interaction with Brendon, but as I made my way into my room, and looked out the window, his car was gone.
My already blank facial expression seemed to drop as I flopped face first onto my bed, struggling to understand my own thoughts.
