Starfire
TW: SA

I was enjoying laying next to Robin and embracing his warmth when my eyes opened abruptly. Sullivan was staring at me from the corner of the room.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you, you looked so peaceful." He smirked and started to walk towards me as I tried to push myself as far into the opposite corner as I could. "I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this, I tried to tell my dad that it would be much easier to kidnap Robin, but he said he had already done that."
I was confused. He seemed genuine, but the way he continued to walk towards me contradicted his attitude. His eyes slowly looked over my body and he licked his lips. My stomachs flopped and a wave of terror took over my body as I realized what his intentions were. "Sullivan, please don't do this, please." My words sounded so quiet as they left my mouth, I could have sworn that I was yelling.
"Starfire, do you know how beautiful you are?"
I didn't answer. He towered above me as I looked up at him from the ground. Before either of us said anything else, he roughly lifted me to my feet and placed his hand on my right cheek. My skin went cold as he just stared at me. His left hand snaked around my back and he tried to pull me towards him, but I spat in his face before pushing him away. I tried to run, but the room was so small and he grabbed me almost immediately. My screams filled the room as I begged him to stop, but it was no use. Eventually I stopped fighting and I stared blankly at the dark ceiling above me while he took advantage of me.
It felt like it went on for hours when it had really only been maybe thirty minutes; but those thirty minutes changed my life forever.
Soon he became bored and left me alone once again, this time, I welcomed the loneliness; if I am alone, no one can hurt me. Without realizing, I had pulled my clothes back on and curled myself into a ball in the corner. Silent tears escaped my eyes as I focused on a discolored spot on the cement below me, before I knew it, I fell asleep; but this time I was all alone.

My eyes squinted as they took in the bright room surrounding me. I instinctively tried to move my arms but they were chained to the table I was laying on. Where am I? At least I am out of that disgusting concrete hell.
"Ah, you're awake!" I looked to my left to see Daniel standing against the wall with his muscular arms crossed over his toned torso.
"Where am I?"
He sauntered over with a smirk covering his pale face and ran his cold fingers over my cheek. Images of what happened before flashed through my mind and I turned away in disgust but he turned my face back to him by pinching my cheeks with two of his fingers. They were incredibly strong and my head whipped back so we were now face to face. His hot breath hit me directly in my nose and it immediately scrunched in protest to the horrific smell.
"You're in the lab. The most I can tell you is that in a few hours you will be back at home with your friends."
A confused but joyful smile took over my features.
"Really? Please tell me the truth." He sighed and placed his fingers on the bridge of his nose. "Yes ok? Listen, I have to go but my dad will be here momentarily." My eyes followed him to see him walk out of a large metal door. I'm going home? This surely can't be true. Why would they capture me and claim they did it to summon Batman, only to set me free two weeks later with nothing gained?
My eyes roamed around the small room to find several metal machines surrounding me. Both of my arms had IV's secured into my veins and another one in my leg seemed to be collecting blood as my eyes followed the cord to a bag hanging on a rack with some other liquids. My broken wrist was purple and swollen, it was agonizing for my wrist to be in the position it was in. It was obviously strapped down like my other hand but it was laying flat making it uncomfortable since I couldn't position it right. A loud creak of the door summoned my attention and I turned my head to see the Joker and Harley walking in, along with Gizmo. My eyebrows lowered and a deep frown took over my face as I stared the small boy down. He ignored me and started to press buttons on a computer in the far corner of the room.
"Hello dear how are you today?"
I ignored him until Harley slapped me across the face.
"He asked you a question doll!"
I rolled my eyes and looked at him. His appearance was the same as always except he was dressed in a doctor's jacket that had splattered blood all over it. Harley was in a traditional nurse's costume presumably to fit in with whatever the Joker was trying to look like. If he was going for the "mad doctor" look, he has most definitely gotten it on point.
"I have been better thanks."
My voice was laced with as much hate and venom that it could muster and he simply laughed at me in delight.
"Look hun, we really have gotten to her. Look at all that hate and determination in those eyes! I love it!"
Harley smiled and pecked him on the cheek. I gasped when he turned to her and sent a harsh slap across her face. She fell to the ground with a loud thud and I heard her sniffle. When she stood back up both her nose and her top lip were bleeding. I couldn't help but feel bad for the poor woman, there's no doubt that she was brain-washed into loving him because no normal person could ever love a monster like him.
"What did I tell you about kissing me in front of other people?"
"Not to do it because it makes you seem soft."
She didn't even look sad, she just looked ashamed as she replied to him.
"Correct, now you watch her while I have a chat with little Gizmo over there."
He stomped angrily away to Gizmo leaving Harley and I alone together.
"You do not have to stay with him you know?"
She just gave me a small laugh.
"Don't try to convince me to leave him honey, plenty of people have tried and he makes me too happy to even consider it."
My eyebrow shot up in doubt.
"You are lying, when you said that, your eye twitched. You have thought about leaving him, have you not?"
She looked shocked that I was able to see through her lie. My eyes went wide when her hand wrapped around my neck and I started to lose the ability to breathe.
"Don't you dare say anything like that! You don't know me, you don't know what my life is like. He's human, we all accidentally do things we regret."
She's in denial.
"H-Harley, just hear me out."
My eyes were watering and I was gasping for breath. When she finally let go of my neck I gasped in a large amount of air, burning my lungs in the process.
"You have one minute."
That's all I needed.
"I have seen people like you, people who think it is normal and ok for someone to treat you this way. I promise you that it is not. We can turn your life around and save you from this!"
Her eyes seemed to shimmer with what seemed to be tears.
"You don't get it Starfire. I've already ruined my life for him and there's no way I can come back now."
I was just about to respond when the Joker returned to my side.
"Alrighty then, are you ready princess?"
His smile was huge as he stared down at me with wide eyes.
"Ready for what?"
Gizmo started a machine attached to my IV and I frantically looked around.
"Were gonna take your powers away. Smile for your friends now."
He shoved a phone in my face and sure enough, my friends were on the other side of the screen watching me with wide eyes.
"Joker stop now! She's innocent please!"
Robin fell to his knees as he plead the Joker to spare me.
The Joker laughed and grabbed my face with his thumb and finger before shoving my face towards the small screen.
"Too late bird-boy!"
His large hand reached to my IV machine to switch a large lever. It only took a moment for me to start feeling the effects of the device. As my powers drained from my already weak body, my eyes were starting to droop from exhaustion.
"R-Ro..."
That's when everything went black and I feared that I would never wake up again.
If only I hadn't woken up; maybe I would have been spared of the pain and torture to follow me for the rest of my life.
