Our Little Angels

Chapter 5

Kirstie POV

Avi's parents loved the gift we got them. Esther got them a trip to the city of LOVE: Paris, France. It reminds me of when Avi and I went there years ago. That was where he proposed to me the first time. It was probably the most memorable moment of the whole trip. As I was thinking about that, I start to get up. Shelley says, "Hold on, I almost forgot about your gift, Kirstie and Avi." She gives Avi a box and I sit back down next to Avi. "Mom, you should've done this." "Merry Christmas, Kirstie and Avi." We open the gift and open the box. We have a bunch of baby clothes. Avi and I go through all them, and of course, immediately, Avi got up to give his parents a hug. "Thanks guys! It means so much to us."

With that, we go up to our room. I sit on the bed. As I'm looking at the baby clothes, it all starts to sink in that in just 4-5 months, Avi and I are going to be parents. I start thinking about their fashion sense. "Kirstie?", Avi says while tapping my shoulder.

I look at my fiancé and smile, "Yes babe?"

"You ok?" he says while rubbing my back.

"Yeah, I'm ok. It's just all sinking in that we are going to be parents in just a few months. I don't know if I'm mentally prepared for this." And when I say this, I feel some movement from our babies. I put my hand on my bump and start to look through the pictures that we brought to decorate Avi's old room with. I look at the love of my life, "So when are we going to redecorate?"

He kisses my cheek. "In a minute. I want to talk to you about something first. The apartment is going to be too small for the four of us. What are we going to do?"

I think about it for a minute. "You have a point, babe. But let's worry about that later. Ok?"

"Ok! That's fine." He gives me a smile before standing up. "Well you seemed ready to redecorate. Let's get started." I stand up and start pulling out the pictures we brought.

The next day I wake up to the smell of pancakes and bacon. I immediately get out of bed and head downstairs. "Morning everybody!" I say as I walk into the kitchen. "Morning Kirstie. What are you doing awake so early?" Shelley asks. I look at the clock, it's only 6:45. "I didn't even realize what time it was. Guess that's why Avi isn't up." I say with a laugh. Esther and Shelley laugh as well. Just then someone's phone rings, Esther quickly pulls her phone out and smiles at it. Shelley rolls her eyes. "She has been texting some boy since she woke up this morning." I look over at Esther and see her blushing. "Does this boy happen to be none other than a Mr. Ben Bram?" I ask. She blushes even harder. "I knew it! And you said yall were just friends." I say while nudging her side. She rolls her eyes at me. "So what are you and Avi doing today?" Esther asks. "I'm not sure. He said something about going into town later." "Maybe he'll show you where he spent most of his free time. No one knows where it is, all we know is that it was in town." Says Shelley. "Are yall still trying to figure out where my secret place was." Avi says while coming down the stairs. "Wow you're up early. I thought I was going to have to come up there around 9 to wake you up." I say while kissing his cheek. "Well you see my gorgeous, pregnant fiancé wasn't next to me so I couldn't sleep." He says while grabbing a piece of bacon off the stove. Shelley hits his hand when he goes to grab another piece. "Wait until breakfast." "Fine....." I laugh before heading towards the stairs. "I'm going to go get ready. Be back in a minute." I head up to Avi's old room and change into a green maternity sweater with ripped shoulders, black jeans with roses, and my favorite boots. Once I'm dressed I head downstairs and see breakfast is ready.

After breakfast Avi and I helped clean up before heading off into town. "So where to first?" I ask while looking around at my surroundings. "First up I'm thinking we just take a walk around Main Street." He says while parking. We both get out and he immediately laces his fingers with mine. "How have you been feeling lately?" Avi asks while placing his free hand on my bump. "Really good. No morning sickness lately." "That's good. I'm so excited for them to get here!" I smile. "I can't wait either." Just then I see a guy stop walking and stare at us. "Umm. Avi do you know him?" I whisper. Avi looks over at the guy and smiles. "Jorden Wakes is that you?" Avi asks while walk up to the guy. "Avi Kaplan, never thought I'd see you again." I let go of Avi's hand and they do some bro hug type thing. "What are you doing back in town?" Jorden asks. "Came to visit my family for Christmas with my fiancé. Jorden this is my bride to be Kirstie." He says while gesturing to me. I shake Jorden's hand. "Very nice to meet you." I say. "Same. So you two are going to be parents. Do you know what you are having?" I shake my head. "No, but we do know we are having twins." "Wow, twins." Avi nods with a proud smile on his face. "Well I better get going. My girlfriend is waiting on me. It was good seeing you again Avi. Lovely meeting you Kirstie." I smile. "It was nice meeting you too." He walks off and Avi grabs my hand again. "How did you know him?" I ask. "I went to high school with him. He use to be my best friend growing up. I haven't seen him in years." He says while we continue to walk.

After a few hours I get tired, so we decide to head back to the house. For the rest of the night  we all relax and visit since Avi and I leave tomorrow.
