Chapter 14

♛ Cameron's POV ♛

I had been sitting in an uncomfortable plastic chair for hours, my mother besides me. We sat in the small waiting room of the infirmary as my father went through surgery. We hadn't gotten any information yet and we both refused to leave. I tried convincing mum to do so, but she was a very stubborn person and refused to go away from her mate. I couldn't blame her. My mum had cried for a good hour before I managed to calm her down. Now, she sat on the chair next to mine, staring at the wall blankly. She hadn't said a word. It killed me seeing her like this and I hated the fact that I couldn't do anything. I hated that I was just sitting here, doing nothing.

My body and mind was in a conflict. Half of me needed to go out and find my mate, the other half needs me to stay here to comfort my mum and make sure my father was okay, the two people who raised me to be who I am today.

My mum and I look up simultaneously when a door opens. Dr Mary walks in, a clipboard in hand. She looked stressed but relieved. I stand up and walk over to her, my mum right behind me. "How is he?" We both ask and Dr Mary gives us a ghost of a smile. "Alpha Gabriel is doing just fine. He had gotten shot by a bullet." She starts and pauses, looking at us hesitantly. "By a silver bullet." She says and I hear my mums sharp intake of breath. "But he's okay, right?" My mum asks, her eyes wide. Dr Mary nods reassuringly. "He is in a good and stable condition." She says and mum nods at her, indicating to continue on talking about my fathers condition.

"The bullet went straight through the left side of his torso, missing his heart. Although it wasn't near his heart, there was a piece of silver stuck in some of his damaged tissue. We had successfully gotten all the silver out but unfortunately, some of the silver went in his bloodstream. So we are giving him fluids to wash them out. It should take around a week or so and during that time, he will be very weak." Dr Mary explains.

Mum sighs in relief and I couldn't help but let my body relax the slightest. "Can we see him?" Mum asks and Dr Mary nods, offering a smile. She leads us to a room with the number 14 on it and she gently opens it. "He's sleeping right now." She explains as the door opens wider. Dr Mary moves away from the door, giving us a view of dad. He looked peaceful while sleeping, as if he didn't get shot in less than 24 hours. He looked a lot paler but that was the only indication that he was not completely healthy. Mum wastes no time in rushing over to him and I watch as she just stands over him, a tear rolling down his face.

"Gabriel." She whispers and then lifts a hand to caress my fathers face. It felt like I was intruding in their moment, so I turn away. I walk out of the room, knowing that my father is okay now, he was with his mate.

And now it's time to find mine.

♕ Arianna' POV ♕

"How long are we staying here for?"

"Until there's no longer a threat."

My body was on fire and my head ached as people spoke. I couldn't make out who they were, I could only focus on the pain. It was too great. It was too exhausting. I struggle to breath, it burned to do so. It felt as if lava was being poured into my veins. I wanted to just go back to sleep, but I wanted my mate more. In order to see him, I knew I had to get up.

After many attempts of trying to open my eyes, they finally do. I wince once harsh light connect with my eyes, blinding me. It takes a while for my eyes to adjust, but it does. The first thing I notice is wood. Lots and lots of wood. The walls and floor were made out of it. The second thing I noticed was that I was changed to one of the said walls and judging by the burning sensation on both my wrists and ankles, they were made of silver. The third thing I noticed, was the man who stood in an also wooden doorway. The increased light made my vision hazy and made my head ache worse. It took me a while to figure out it was Zac.
