The tension has risen with each passing day. The atmosphere was almost always clouded with apprehension. The weather seemed to have increased everyone's bad mood as we had not seen the sun in what felt like forever. Winter was near and even though the bitter cold never bothered us, the dark clouds did. It was almost like the clouds were mocking us, taking away our rays of light.

The excitement of June's arrival had long since died down and I would like to think that she was now comfortable with our pack. Her pack.

Princess.

My heart skips a beat at both my mates voice in my head and the suddenness of it, catching me completely by surprise. I make sure not to let it show though. A queen never shows weakness.

Yes, Cameron.

Come to the office.

I don't even bother responding or asking why he wanted my presence. We had been doing the same thing for the last couple of days now. I make my way to Gabriel's office, knocking before entering. The two Alphas, Joseph, Landon and Sofia were also in the office. I wasn't surprised. They all patiently wait for me to shut the door and make my way to the couch where Sofie sat.

I took my jolly good time.

I sit down, offering Sofia a smile, and I cross my right leg over my left one. I then turn to look at my father in law. "We need to run over the plans." He starts.

Again I silently add in my mind.

I was not surprised in the least with his words. He had had said the exact same thing yesterday and of course, all the other days. I keep my mouth shut like a good little Luna.

A good queen always had patience.

I nod at Gabriel, silently telling him to go on. "As soon as we get any indication that the war is starting, we get all mothers, children, females who are not participating and the elderly inside the bunkers." He says. The bunkers were underground, built to fit around a hundred and fifty people. Food and other necessities were already placed there. There's enough to last a month. The bunkers were quite old but have been slightly upgraded for use. The doorway was located inside the orphanage.

"Everyone else is to get prepared. The wolves from our neighbouring pack will get a message via mind link-" Gabriel motions to my mate. "- and they should be here in about five minutes."

The warriors from our neighbouring pack were staying at a place on our territory. Unfortunately, they could not stay with us as there was barely any room for all the warriors.

"The rogues are estimated to come through the north side of the territory, through the forest. We have patrollers guarding all of the border lines. They can not get to us without us knowing." He continues.

I nod, not paying much attention.

Cameron decides to speak up, surprising me. In all the other meetings, he barely spoke a word. He looks directly at me while speaking.

"You and my mother with be directing all the mothers, females, children's and elderly to where they need to go. You are to make sure everything goes smoothly." He says and I nod, knowing my responsibility. Cameron hesitates to say the next part. "You are to stay with them until the war is over."

It was safe to say that I was shocked. I couldn't even hide it. I was supposed to help everyone get in the bunkers, yes, but I did not agree to stay with them. I knew how to fight without the training. My natural instincts helped me in that department. I would be useful on the battlefield. I could save lives. I couldn't do that in the bunkers. Sofia was capable of taking care of everything underground. She could take care of all the pack. I made sure to voice my opinions.
