This chapter is dedicate to @_jelizabeth. Beautiful human being read all of the first book, voted for all the chapters and then move onto this book and did the same thing. I appreciate it hun. It gives some kind of hope that I am not such a crappy writer 😂

On with the chapter!

My daughter jumped in my stomach as I walked to the kitchen of my new home. Finn had his parents move us into their vacation home in San Francisco and I had gotten the guest house.

Two bedrooms, one bathroom and a large kitchen had been what I called mine for the last two months. His parents had also put together a baby room for me with me being due in 6 weeks.

"What do you want for breakfast baby girl?" I asked her as I looked in the fridge. As I reached for the strawberries and honeydew melon, she kicked softly. The two fruits had become my favorite as well as grilled chicken salad and grilled cheese with tomato and basil leaves.

I sighed as the days grew closer to her being born. Jace hadn't been here. Jace couldn't see the development of his child that we created, he wouldn't be there for her birth; I would be bringing our baby home alone. I would be the only one to see her eyes open for the first time and take her first breath, it was breaking my heart.

"Dear, your doctor is here." His mother, Vanessa said from the door. She had a smile on her face but her eyes were filled with guilt and sadness. She had been looking at me like that since the day she saw me.

"Finn, what has that girl done to be in all of this?" His mom asked him while I was upstairs getting my bags. "She has a baby on the way with someone that you called your best friend Finley!" She sneered. His father stood there, not knowing what to say.

After that day, they both made sure that the kitchen was fully stocked and that the baby had everything that she needed. Clothes, diapers, baby books, anything that they could think of, they got for her.

Dr. Wendy Dickens, a certified doula and OBGYN, came into the house with a small smile on her face. We had grown close and she always put me at ease.

"Rebecca, let's see how the little one is." She said.

Finn, his parents and I had dinner for the first time together in the main house, silence filled the air.

"How's that baby girl doing?" Finn's dad, Roger asked, a smile gracing his face as he thought about the tiny one in my belly.

"She's growing perfectly. Her heartbeat was strong and loud." I told him with a smile. Wendy had said that everything was perfect and that she had dropped into position.

"She is ready. Thankfully you haven't been having contractions. Let me know if you start having them or if anything unusual happens."

Finn had stayed quiet. His parents not knowing of Henderson's death despite it having been two months since. The James family had State away from the news and magazines due to all the attention they were getting.

Once I was finished, I began making my way to the guest house when I saw a figure. It was definitely a female but I couldn't see her face due to it being dark.

She ran away quickly after hearing my footsteps and I didn't try to pursue her. I was too tired. But that didn't stop me from opening the package that she had left or reading the note.

The words from the note flew inside my head as it rained. My daughter bounced in my stomach wildly as I thought about her dad and I had become restless.
