Mackenzie whined just a little as her father picked her up and took her to the changing table.

Rebecca slept soundly as Jace had to soon prepare for his day. His captain had given him a couple weeks off to reunite with Rebecca and get to know his daughter.

"I love you Mac. You're my little bug. My little girl. Always will be." He whispered to her as he changed the two week old's diaper. She looked more and more like her mother every day.

The weeks had gone by and nothing has progressed with Jacob. He was scared and only wanted to talk to his brother.

Today was the day that Jace was finally going to get his answers. He was finally going to get the truth.

Light footsteps were heard going downstairs of the house that Jace and Rebecca now shared. He followed with their daughter snuggled closely to his chest.

The brunette was in one of Jace's white button-downs and a pair of lacy cheeky underwear. She had gained curve and a natural beauty since giving birth. Jace thought that it made her more beautiful, if that was even possible.

She started coffee and began making pancakes, eggs and bacon. Jace's presence still unnoticed.

"Good morning beautiful," he whispered. Her head snapped up and she smiled widely at the sight. The little girl in his arms had her father wrapped around her finger.

"Good morning." At the sound of Rebecca's voice, Mackenzie reached for her mother. "Good morning my baby girl." She cooed to the baby gently, the little girl giggling slightly.

"Changed her. She just needs to be fed." He told her. She nodded and bounced the baby as she ate from the container of fruit she pulled from the refrigerator.

"Are you ready for today?" She asked, her voice quiet and cautious. Jace hated everything that had to do with that happened to his family. He was angry but he wanted answers the right way.

"Honestly, I don't know. I'm worried about what I'm going to do or say to him."

She sighed and went over to him, kissing him lightly on the lips. There was nothing that he could say that would make him feel better or make it any easier to have to talk to someone he once trusted with his life.

"Your mother and my uncle are coming over for dinner tonight. Hopefully work won't be to hectic." She said.

The little family are breakfast together and talked about the holiday plans to come. She was to start working the assistant to an event planner once Mackenzie was 6 months and Jace was going to be workin with to the homicide division.

Jace got dressed and kissed his ladies goodbye before leaving for the precinct.

He didn't want to leave his daughter or Rebecca but he needed answers. Walking to the interrogation room, his blood began to boil.

He walked into the room that held someone that he once called a brother but that changed the day that he shot Rebecca.

"Why?" Was the first thing that he asked as he walked into the room. Finn looked sick. His skin was pale, his cheeks sunk in and his body thin. But the thing that shook Jace's core were his eyes.

They held nothing in them. Almost like black holes. They held no sadness, no pain, no anger, they were just blank.

"Because you got what I wanted."

Jace shook his head.

"Why kill my dad, your parents, all those innocent officers and people that you killed just because you couldn't get a girl?" Jace said, his voice hard. Finn's eyes filled with anger.

"You. Had. Everything." He sneered. "Diana, your family, college scholarship and when you left, I finally got a taste of the thing that you were absolutely in love and you didn't even know it." He taunted.

Jace was disgusted and angry but he wasn't going to let him get away with this.

"How did it make you feel knowing that she came back to me? How does it feel knowing that my child will know who I am but not your own?" Jace taunted back, a small smirk on his face as the anger in Finn's eyes became more and more apparent.

"I WILL FUCKING MURDER YOU!" Finn shouted, his voice lace with hatred and rage.

"You won't do anything because you're locked up, I'm not. You're in here because you got caught. You're angry because even though you hurt Rebecca, she will be able to live her life and you'll be behind bars for the rest of yours." And with that, he walked out of the room.

He couldn't believe the words that had come out of his mouth. He couldn't believe that Finn had thought he won, thought that he could get away with what he had done.

"Kathryn said she's on her way." William said as the young man poured a cup of coffee. "How's my goddaughter?"

If there was one thing William Sosa loved as much as his own daughter was Mackenzie. She had him wrapped around her finger and his wife, Franny, absolutely loved it.

"She's good. Becks is starting to kind of get her on a schedule and she's giggling a lot." He said.

Mackenzie had just woken up from a nap and was already becoming impatient.

"What's wrong, baby girl?" Rebecca asked, watching as her daughter looked around for something... Or someone. The new mother giggled. "Do you miss daddy?"

The infant began to make gurgling noises. Her mother laughed a little and just as the door opened, the baby girl became overly excited.

Jace walked into the living room, smiling at his girls and cooed to his daughter.

"Baby doll." He whispered, peppering kisses all over the infant's chubby cheeks. And that's when they heard it.

A baby giggle. Their baby's first giggle. And they knew that they didn't want to not ever have to hear that sound.

Just the thought of his giggling little baby made his heart yearn to be home. He wished sometimes that he didn't have to come back to work. But he needed to provide for his family.

"You gonna marry the bitch, Jace?" Finn's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Watch your mouth, Essex." William sneered, nodding his head sharply to the men that were waiting for him from the FBI.

We still have a plan dumb fuck. Rebecca Abels is going to die. That baby is going to die. His brothers will die. Everything will be taken from him and then this can be over. The voice in Jacob's head sneered. Finn.

Author's note: There are only 10 chapters left of the book (and that includes the epilogue). If anyone know an editor that would be great. I don't know exactly what to do!

Also, I will be doing a one-shot contest, open until I say so. This will be a one shot for a few different scenarios:

- Rebecca doesn't recover from the gunshot.

- Jace and Diana actually work, from Rebecca's P.O.V

- Rebecca is murdered after Mackenzie

- Finn's dark beginning

- Mackenzie gets hurt

I don't care which one you pick and you can submit as many as you want. If you guys come up with a different scenario, I am up for it. Just wanted to do something for you guys since you are awesome.

Baby update: I officially have a walker! Baby A is walking at almost 9 1/2 months, in love with the drums and tennis 😍
