2 1/2  years later [ Rebecca ]

I paced back and forth as I watched William play with Mackenzie. She smiled and giggled as he tickled her and chased her around the living room.

My aunt and her now husband, Zander were coming over for a small dinner and I had something to tell them... well William and I both did. About a year after he left, William discovered that his wife had been having an affair and that the child they thought they shared, wasn't his.

He was absolutely devastated and called me in tears. With him being the god-father of ou- my daughter, I let him move in with me.

Long story short, about a year ago, he and I started dating. We've kept it a secret due to us by knowing how to approach the whole thing between us.

I didn't miss him anymore. William made me happy. He was a great guy and Mackenzie loved him. He picked her up from school if I couldn't, he was there when she first went to daycare, he cooked dinner for me when I would come home late... he was perfect.

But with Evan being back from Afghanistan and not knowing about his brother not being there, Alexander visiting from Louisiana and Kathryn coming over and having been on a well-deserved vacation/honeymoon, I was worried about their reactions.

Arms wrapping themselves around my waist caused me to snap out of my thoughts. Immediately relaxed.

"Stop thinking so much." He whispered before placing a kiss on my temple. I smiled softly and turned around in his embrace. He kissed my forehead and smiled at me with adoration and love in his eyes.

"Do you think it'll go well?" I asked. Before he could answer, Mackenzie pulled on his shirt and pointed to the door.

"Knock on door!" She exclaimed. William laughed and began chasing after her towards the door, the sounds of her giggling and squealing filled the house with happiness.

I watched as Will pushed her back away from the door and opened it. He quickly became tense and soon punched whoever was at the door before slamming it.

"Will, what's wrong? Who was that?" I asked him. His eyes snapped to mine and I saw the anger and rage mixed within his eyes but he said nothing. I began walking towards the door but was pulled back.

"Do NOT open the door." He said.

"Who was at the door, Will?" I asked again, knowing that the only other time that I seen that much rage and anger in him was when he found out that his wife was having an affair.

I pushed him out of the way and opened the door.

My eyes went wide as I stared at the man holding his nose.

"Jace."
