Two weeks later...
The FBI headquarters explosion had shaken the nation. Finn was literally everywhere. Every news channel, every magazine cover and every radio station had his name.
Jace took a deep breath as he knocked on Zander's house. The older man only had a graze and was taking care of Kathryn who had a severe head injury, broken collarbone, arm and leg. No more bodies had popped up but the ones that he had left were the things that were going to end him.
Zander opened the door, a look of exhaustion on his face. He smiled gently and stepped aside for the young man. The two men said nothing as they went to Kathryn's bedroom.
What he didn't expect was for Kathryn would be on her bed going through the files of the case.
She read every journal entry, every paper he ever wrote, every single thing that they had retrieved from his apartment was on her bed and she couldn't figure out the end game.
"This guy is crazier than we thought honestly. I mean, sure we know that he's obsessed with Jace and Diana but his obsession with Rebecca. He wanted to know everything about her to ruin her... and he doesn't even know her." She whispered, the disbelief laid in journal entry she was reading.
Date: December 25, 2016
I can't believe it's Christmas. It's another Christmas without Diana by my side. Another Christmas where no one is paying attention to me but Jace or someone that is important to him. This year, its Rebecca.
Rebecca fucking Abels. The brunette that completely ruined everything. She's the one that has Jace's attention (which isn't what is supposed to happen) and now, nothing is the same. Everything is broken.
He doesn't love Diana anymore. He loves this new girl.
I want her to die. I want to watch her bleed out. I want to watch as the life leaves her eyes.
Kathryn put down the journal just as the pain in her collarbone and head returned. Jace had picked up the file that he wasn't supposed to be shown.
As his eyes scanned the file, both agents looked at him, knowing what file he had picked up.
Zander watched as Jace talked to Desmond and Will. The young man's facial expression were unreadable; the first time that Zander couldn't read someone.
He had completely shut down. He couldn't believe what he had read.
It made him angry.
Did his father know?
Did his mother ever tell him?
His focus then shifted on his mother and he soon found himself silent. His mother was the one that could help bring Rebecca and his daughter home.
"Get my mother down here. I want to talk to her," Jace said to Zander as he passed him.
"Kid, where're you going?" The older man asked. Jace stopped to look at Zander. His face free of emotion, he continued to walk to the bullpen. Zander followed without a word, knowing the look he was giving.
"EARS UP!" Zander exclaimed. Everyone stopped what they were doing and all attention was on Jace.
"He knows about chemicals, he knows about fires, he knows guns.... Finn knows everything that you guys know. What he doesn't know is how to probably use them. He knows what goes in them, he knows how they're made and how to make them but use... he knows nothing. The only thing he knows how to use is a gun." Jace began, his voice trailing off as many things about his old friend began to come up.
