This chapter is dedicated to someone that I don't know at all but who has voted and blown up my notifications (which I'm not complaining about 😘) but it's so great to know that someone likes my story this much. So @Liyah_Read_What, you are an amazing human being and have given me so much inspiration to continue. Thank you love ❤️
The day had consisted of patrols and talks with the chief about a promotion.
Jace excelling in all of his classes at the academy and having a shining record with the force so far, the precinct had been looking for new detectives.
He pulled into the parking lot of the hospital, a bouquet of daisies, Rebecca's favorite flowers, Jace took a deep breath before exiting the car.
Maybe she'll wake up today... she'll smile at me and happiness will shine in those beautiful brown eyes that I had fallen in love with. He thought to himself as he neared the room.
Peeking inside, he noticed that his family wasn't there which meant that he would be able to have time to himself.
"Hey Becks," he began as he walked into the room. He set the flowers into the case that held dead ones from weeks ago. "I wish you would wake up. I miss you. I really do..."
No one would truly understand the pain that he was going through. He had let the one person that was his all slip through his fingers and here she was, clinging onto life.
Had he never gone back to Diana and fell for what she and his mother was saying, he would have been with Rebecca and this wouldn't have happened.
Diana had told him that it wasn't his fault and nah whoever had done this, they were going to pay. His partner telling him the same thing. But the guilt was eating him alive.
"I'm so sorry for what I did. I'm sorry that I broke your heart even though I said I wouldn't. I love you. So much. And now, it may be too late to tell you."
Standing outside of the room m, Finn stood. He had come to the hospital with every intention on killing the bitch.
She should have died on that damn cliff. Finn thought as he watched his best friend talk to the girl. He hated how much he loved Rebecca. He thought that he had loved Diana but he couldn't have been more wrong.
He watched the way that Jace looked at the brunette from afar. Envying them because he knew that what he saw between the two was something Diana would never be able to do... she was in love with Jace.
Finn watched his best friend in agony. He knew that somehow, the evidence would lead back to him in the long run.
Just keep up appearances with Jace and work. You'll be fine. The voice inside of his head said. She'll die soon.
Jace watched out the window of the hospital, watching as people entered and left the hospital. So many people came in and left on a daily basis, it was fascinating.
But he just wanted the day that he might be able to wheel Rebecca out of the hospital with a newborn with them instead.
He still wanted all the same things with her that he did before, no matter what he did, Jace was in love with her and he wanted a future with her.

The week passed by quickly and soon, it was the weekend. The family would be here sitting and waiting for something to change while not a word would be spoken between them.
Alexander had been sleeping at Maddie's house due to her nightmares increasing since the death of her little sister and she wanted to be with him all the time. Evan left for duty again and no one knew when he would be back.
Henderson had been the main one sitting at the hospital with her, not wanting to miss anything new.
Jace's days off were Friday's and Saturday's but even after not getting home until 4 in the morning, he would sit in the hospital and leave before his father arrived.
"J, we found a lead." Clyde told Jace as soon as he walked into the precinct. All the sleep that he felt just a moment ago had disappeared and was replaced with adrenaline. The two went to their station and began talking. "So this," he began, putting three pictures on the desk, "is what cameras around park caught just moments after they assumed she was shot. They can't see the liscense plate but it's a start." He said.
Jace would take it. He would take anything that he could get. Taking the pictures in his hands, he looked at the blurry picture that consisted of a black sports car from what it looked like.
The rest of the day, he looked through the database of any convicts that might have that type of car but no luck came up. He had even went over the tapes and couldn't put his finger on anything.
His phone ringing snappped him out of his thoughts.
"Jace Thomas," he answered, not looking at the caller ID.
"Hey man! Let's go out tonight. Take your mind of things. Sports Bar, couple of beers and some wings." Finn suggested. The blonde haired young man was worried about Jace knowing that it was him and so instead of allowing him to investigate, he wanted to pull him away from all of it.
No one would know that it was him. Clyde had never met him and he planned to keep it that way.
Finn waited on the phone anxiously as the pause from the other side continued after about a minute.
"Sure. I'll meet you at Rock's." His old friend said, a sigh following. "9 sound good?"
"Sounds great man. See ya." Finn said before hanging up. Jace stared at the files that laid on his desk, Rebecca's medical file in front of him from the accident.
The blood was imprinted in his mind and it was as if he couldn't get any other sight out of his head other than her face being as pale as a sheet... being so close to the brink of death and now, she laid in the hospital in a coma.
Soon it was 9 and Jace pulled into a parking spot at Rock's Sports Bar and Grill. It was a cool place that the whole team would go to after football games when he was in high school.
"How's everything?" Finn asked as soon as Jace sat down.
"She hasn't woken up yet but I think she will soon...I hope." He said truthfully, ordering a Bud Light and some BBQ wings.
His old friend frowned at the mention of the brunette that he thought he had killed. Finn downed his beer and asked for another one right as Jace's was put on the table.
"I can't believe she survived." Finn said aloud without realizing it. Jace stopped reaching for his beer and looked at his friend in both anger and confusion.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked. His friend realized what he had said and shook his head, trying to figure out what to say.
"Not like that," he said, taking a long drink from his beer before continuing. "I just meant, it's a good thing despite how bad of a condition she was in."
Jace hadn't told him about her condition... he was becoming suspicious. And right as he was about to ask, his phone rang.
Dad calling....
"She's starting to wake up. Get your ass down here, son!" Henderson shouted happily, not caring about what had happened.
"She's waking up!" Jace exclaimed, throwing down two $20s on the table and running to his car.
Author's note:
Holy balls! This is kind of moving fast but don't worry, nothing will be revealed! I'm going to be making sure that you're on the edge of your seats.
Finn's chapter is going to be next, in first point of view, so be prepared for a tough pill to swallow.
Next chapter will is TBA.
