XVII : Bend & Break

My mom came back in the kitchen after Nick walked away towards all of them. We finished the food and then she called Maddie and Frankie to put the plates on the table

They put them, the forks and everything as I helped taking the food to the table

The others started sitting on the table and it immediately started of wrong when Nicole sat on my seat

- Hum.. Demi sits there - Joe told Nicole but I put my hand on his shoulder

- It's ok.. it's just a seat - I said faking a smile to both

She sat next to Nick so I had to move completely out of place..  I had to seat on the other side of the table in front of Nicole, who was by the end of the table, and next to Frankie. Joe was at the end of our side of the table while his mom was on the other one talking with my mom who was next to Nick

By Frankie's side was Maddie talking with him, which meant that they were all distracted (our moms, Maddie and Frankie)

- So Demi, - she started making me look at her dead in the eyes - how long have you been with the Jonas' family?

I took out my food feeling nervous.. this all smelled fishy, and it wasn't the food

- Well, our moms met in highschool and when they both got Joe and my sister Dallas, they tried to bring us all closer so, I remember being with them all, ever since Nick and I were born..

She smirked and nodded - And that's how you got in the friend zone right? - she mumbled loud enough for me to hear them

Nick choked on his food and Joe hissed at Nicole

- Yes, Nicole.. That's how I got in the friend zone... - I sternly said with a poker face - How did you get in it?

She smirked - You gotta hear this story - she mumbled - Actually, I was the one who put Nicholas here in the friendzone - she said confusing me

Nick looked at her and frowned - What? - he asked also confused

- When we were kids, he had a crush on me.. you had it didn't you? - She asked turning towards him

He looked at me and I felt my heart bend once

- Y-Yeah.. but..

- And I told you I didn't like you like that, so we became best friends who told everything to each other.. he talked about you once or twice - she smirked bending my heart twice..

I nodded as Joe tried to change the subject but she insisted on continuing asking her dumb questions at me making me answer all of them and bend my heart more and more

She finally got quiet being Joe and Nick's turn to talk.. they were both discussing about sports when Nicole opened her mouth again

- You really love golf Nick - she smirked glancing at me

He nodded not really acknowledging her "funfact about him".. but she wanted to twist the knife

- Did you know Nick also loves baseball? - she asked directly at me

I smirked.. you wanna play that game?

- I did.. I was there for his first baseball game - I smiled sarcastically - he even dedicated his wins to me a few games in a row..

She chuckled - Aww.. that's so sweet.. he once saved me from drowning.. - she simply said - we were in california on the best trip ever when I fell into a pool and he reached for me giving me a hand
