Chapter 3

Ryan's POV

I went straight into our room to find Chloe curled up in a ball on the floor, crying her eyes out, she was crying so much she was shaking

"Chloe!" I exclaimed as I dropped down beside her and pulled her small figure into my lap

I wrapped my arms around her and cradled her, she was having a panic attack, I could tell, it wasn't the first time but something must've triggered her

"Chloe baby, calm down for me honey would you? Shhh sweetie, it's okay, you're okay, I'm here, I promise" I tell her and rock her gently

Eventually she calms down but she's still shaking a little, looking at her checks so tearstained and her eyes all red and puffy destroyed me, what the hell happened?!

"Chloe honey, what happened?" I ask her gently but she just shakes her head and cuddles even tighter into me

"Babe I'm gonna go get you a glass of water, when was the last time you had something to eat?" I ask who and she just shrugs her shoulders

"That means not recently enough, we've talked about this Chlo honey, if your blood sugar gets too low you have fainting spells, I'll get you something too eat as well, I'll be right back okay? I promise" I tell her and she nods shakily

I lift her gently out of my lap and then kiss her forehead before hurrying downstairs, I don't want to leave her for long, not when she's like this and especially not when I don't know why

Toby's POV

"What the hell happened?!" Dad asks me pretty worriedly

"Uhhh" I don't know what I'm supposed to say

"She just had a panic attack, something must've happened but she won't tell me what" he tells me, I can't tell him what happened, he'll hate me

"Can I see her?" I ask sheepishly

"Yeah, that's a good idea, I don't want her to be alone" he tells me and I immediately run upstairs

I stand in front of the door for a moment, afraid to go in, but I know I have to, I have to face what I did, I have to stop being so horrible too her, she's really nice and she tries really hard, it's not fair how I treat her, I know it's not

I take a deep breath and walk in, I find her huddled up in a ball, her head resting against her knees so she can't see me

She looks up, clearly expecting to see my dad because when she sees me she jumps

"I'm really sorry Chloe" I tell her but her breathing is still getting really fast and I'm worried

"I've been horrible to you for almost a year and you didn't deserve that, I...I was just....I don't know, I've never had to share my dad before, it was always just him and me, but now you're here, I was scared he'd stop spending time with me because he'd wanna spend time with you" I explained nervously and slowly I saw her began to call down again

I went over to her and sat down next to her, I snuggled into her side kinda awkwardly and hugged her, it felt weird at first, especially when she put her arms around me and hugged me back but it was kinda nice, I rested my head on her shoulder and she rested her head on mine

For the first time it felt like I had a mom, it was nice, I liked it

I could still feel her shaking a little but it slowly stopped

My dad walked in worriedly but when he saw us like this he smiled he sat down on the other side of Chloe and we all just sat together for a while

Maybe her being in this family wasn't such a bad thing after all
