Chapter 9

Ryan's POV

I went upstairs as fast as I could, I couldn't handle being there, I didn't want him to know how I felt about it because I know he has a right to want to talk to his mother and stuff but I just can't accept it and Sophie will make a huge thing out of it because I told her I wouldn't let her anywhere near him

I walk into our bedroom and find Chloe curled up with her eyes closed so I go to start creeping around but she opens one eye and smiles softly

"I wasn't asleep, you're fine" she tells me sleepily, she was up late night so she's pretty tired

"What did he say?" She asks me quietly as she sits up

"He wants to meet her" I tell her before sighing and sitting down

I lie back a little and Chloe snuggles up to me, resting her head on my chest, I wrap my arm around her and kiss the top of her head gently

"What you gonna do?" She asks me without making eye contact

"If he wants to see her I can't stop him, I mean I can but he has a right to meet his mother if he wants to, he's old enough to make his own decision, ugh maybe I just shouldn't have told him" I vent to her as she slowly drifts off, or so I thought

"No, that would've ended much worse, if he found out about that and found out you lied to him then it could just end up tearing you apart, I know it's not the same thing but my mom kept secrets from me about my dad and now we've been estranged since the day I left for college" she reminds me, bringing me back to my senses

"I'm sorry babe, I'm just dumping this all on you, you've had to deal with this kind of shit your whole life, it's not your problem" I apologise to her but I must've done something wrong because she sits up and gives me a bit of a look

"Yeah I've dealt with shit like this but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna support you, you're my husband and I love you and I love Toby too, your problems are my problems" she tells me

She takes my hand and squeezes it

"Whatever happens it's you and me okay?" she asks me and I nod before pulling her into a hug

She is the best I swear, she didn't need to just settle down with me so young, she could've run the second she heard about Toby and she didn't, most girls would have freaked about something in this situation by now but Chloe didn't

"You're amazing, I'm so lucky to have you, I don't tell you that enough and I'm sorry" I tell her as she snuggles back into me

"You tell me that all the time" she corrects me with a giggle

"Still not enough, I'm gonna say it more from now on" I promise her and I feel her smile against my chest

"It'll all sort itself out Ryan, if she's like that all the time Toby will see it and he's a good kid he'll get tired of it fast" she tells me but I don't think she's convinced of it herself

"I hope so" I whisper, mostly to myself

But is Chloe right? Or will Toby fall for Sophie's games? Will he just see his mother stood before him for the first time ever and be completely blinded by that? Or will he see past the fact she's his mother to who she really is? Xoxo
