In the morning, she woke up with severe headache and her eyes were red from crying. Julia hoped no one would notice. As she went down the stairs she heard her father saying with sadness,
"Listen Annie, I will take you and Julia to live in London. There you would be safe. I heard a massive war is about to happen and I will have to take a part in it. But I want to fight with a sound knowledge that the two most important people of my life are safe. I have everything ready for you. James will be responsible to pick you and drive you there."
Her mom, Annie, sobbed as she knew she couldn't change his mind. After hearing what her father said, Julia went to him with tears and hugged him tightly,
"Please don't leave us Papa. Please I don't want to lose you," said Julia as her tears flowed endlessly.
"Julia, sweetheart, please don't cry. This is the only way you and your mother will be protected," David, her father, said while trying hard to hold back the tears.
Not wanting to upset her father, Julia reluctantly accepted. She wiped her tears and went along with her mother. It was the hardest goodbye for both Julia and Annie. In the car, Julia and Annie held hands, trying to calm each other. Julia's eyes were filled with tears but she fought them off in order to be stronger for the sake of her mother and bited her lips so the tears won't come out. She lost her lover and now she was loosing her father. When they arrived there was a very stunning mansion. It was beautifully decorated and had the most luxurious and expensive furniture. But that didn't substitute the absence of David.
At the door there was a maid awaiting for them. She was a beautiful maiden the same age as Julia. She was a ginger with beautiful blue eyes. Her name was Helen. Julia was so shocked to see a girl , who was almost her age, working. The sad thoughts about her father disappeared and curiosity filled her mind. She wanted to know all about Helen and felt sad for her. Instead of going to school and playing with other kids, she is working.
Helen showed them the house and led them to their rooms. Both of them were tired after a long trip. But Julia couldn't sleep. So many worries and thoughts revolved in her head. It was the same thoughts she had all day. She wondered if she would ever meet her dad again. She also wondered about Helen and what was her story. Julia couldn't sleep because of the pain that was caused from the idea of not meeting her father again and that Thomason never loved her.
The sun rose and Julia didn't want to go through the day. Hoping no one notices her red eyes, Julia dressed and went down to eat her breakfast. The delicious smell of fried eggs, bacons and muffins filled the air . But even then Julia wasn't willing to eat anything.
"Good morning Ms.Julia. I hope you had a good sleep yesterday. I cooked some yummy food you might like," said Helen with a big, happy smile.
Julia was surprised. She thought a gourmet chef had cooked the food. But it was a girl her age who cooked it.
" Good morning,"replied Julia, trying to fake a smile. Not wanting to make Helen feel bad, Julia ate from the food.
" This is so delicious Helen. By the way have you seen my mom? I can't find her anywhere,"said Julia.
"Mrs.Annie is in her room. She said that she didn't want any disturbance," replied Helen.
"Ok, well I don't want any disturbance either," said Julia as she was heading to her bedroom.
