Julia returned home to see Helen arranging the books in the library.
"Hello Helen,"greeted Julia.
"Oh hello dear. How was your first day at school? ",
"It was good. I made a new friend.", replied Julia.
"Already! you're such a social butterfly", beamed Helen.
Julia blushed to Helen's compliment.
"Helen, I was wondering if you would like to study with me everyday?"
"Really! I would love to Ms. Julia. Thank you so much!" said Helen as she hugged Julia tightly.
"Oh sorry miss I get carried away sometimes. "
"No it's ok and call me just Julia from now onwards ", replied Julia as she hugged her even more tight.
"Oh my Lord, look at you little cute kittens. Hello Julia. I have heard that today was your first day at school. How was it?",said Annie, whom appeared from nowhere.
"It was good", responded Julia sadly. Helen felt even sadder to see them like this.
"That's great dear. I hope you have an amazing year", said Annie as she left the room.
"I am sorry you have to go through this. I am here to help you and will always be there for you", said Helen.
"Thank you Helen. You're such an amazing person with a big heart,"replied Julia," I am going to take some rest at my room."
Later that night, while Helen was cleaning, there was a knock at the door. Helen opened the door and found Billson with a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
"How can I help you sir?"asked Helen.
"I am looking for Ms.Annie. Is she in the house?",replied Billson.
"Ms. Annie is in the house, please wait in the living room while I call her."
Billson waited in the living room as Helen went to call Annie.
"Ms.Annie, some man wants you. I don't know who he is", said Helen.
"Ok dear, I will come down immediately."
Helen went to the kitchen to prepare some tea for Annie and Billson. Annie came down confused.
"Here you are. Hello beautiful lady. I brought these flowers just for you."
Annie blushed and said, " Oh thank you. But excuse me may I know who you are?",
"My name is Billson. I was mesmerized by your beauty when I saw you in the park."
Annie blushed even more. Helen brought the tea and the two spoke for a long time. Annie saw Julia, who was coming downstairs and yelled, "Julia, sweetheart, come and meet Mr.Billson."
Julia went to greet Billson. But she had a terrible feeling about him. She couldn't trust him and didn't like him a bit.
"Who is this? Is she your daughter?"
"Oh no Mr.Billson. She is not my daughter. I am not married. She is my niece", replied Annie.
Julia felt disheartened and her chest pained alot. She was at the edge of crying but held it back. Julia knew it wasn't her mother fault. But it still hurt. She never thought this would happen.
"Ok madam, it's getting late. I better return back home", said Billson and then left the house.
Julia excused Annie and went to her room. There she had a huge meltdown.
"Mom please remember me. I miss you. I miss talking to you and I miss sharing my secrets with you. I miss hugging you everyday when I came from school as you played with my hair. I feel lonely and lost without you. Goodnight dearest mom."
