Everyday, Julia sneaked out of the house with the hopes of seeing Thomason. Over the months, she felt something new. Something she never felt before. It was like her meetings with Thomason turned to rendezvous. She felt for him something powerful. Something that kept her up all night.
That day, Thomason was sitting in the bench, fidgeting with his shirt. Julia greeted him then say next to him.
"Hello Julia. How are you?"
"I am good. How are you?"
"I am fine."
"Is everything alright?"
"No, I have to tell you something Julia. I.. I."
Thomas took a deep breathe and continued,"I love you Julia."
This came as a shocking news to Julia. Shocking but delightful news.
"I don't know how it happened but over the months when we met and talked together, I felt something new. It was like a spark. I have never felt it before but I could tell it's love."
"I am glad I am not the only one who felt that way. I love you too Thomason."
It was a relief for both. A burden had been taken off their shoulders and chests. They took a walk around the park, hand in hand. Both of them appreciated the serenity of the early mornings and the peace of nature.
Later Julia returned home and so did Thomason. He was humming tunes as he entered his house. But then he heard the deep and horrifying voice of his father,"Huh, so you have been hanging around with a 'princess'. How could she hangout with such a useless rat like you!"
"How did you know?"
"How did I know? Nothing gets unnoticed by me. Don't you think I didn't notice how you became happy over the weeks. So I decided to see what's your secret. So I followed you. And there she is, your little bird. She can be useful. Get money from her."
"No!"yelled Thomason. He wasn't going to use Julia.
"Didn't I told you not to say no to me!"the father said as he punched Thomason.
It was hard enough to knock Thomason.
"Do it or you're getting more than these,"he said as he punched Thomason once more.
Thomason went to his room and locked the door behind him. He had to think of a plan. Then he got this unpleasing plan. At least Julia would be safe.
Next day, he went to the park wearing a hat ,not wanting Julia to notice his scar.
"Hello Thomason!"cheered Julia.
"Take a seat Julia,"Thomason said as hurshly as he could.
It was breaking his heart but he knew Julia would be safe. It would break her heart. But he was a great danger to her. Now that his father knows about them, Julia would be in a big trouble.
"You thought I love you. Huh! I would never fall in love with such a spoiled young lady such as yourself."
"Thomason, there must be misunderstanding. What about the way we looked at each other? What about what you said to me yesterday?"
"No! There wasn't any misunderstanding. All was lies. Goodbye Julia."
Then he walked away.He looked her once more. It broke his heart to see her crying. He just wanted to brush her tears. He knew he couldn't for her sake.
Julia's heart pace picked up and her fist clinched. Her heart was shattered into million pieces, her chest was paining and tears started flowing like a river. She couldn't believe what just happened. She loved him truly. But he was lying. Why? Julia sneaked back to her room. She buried her face into the pillow, crying heavily.
It seemed like the end of the world and nothing is going to be alright. Even breathing seemed impossible. The worst was she used to cry in silence, not wanting to wake anybody up. That made Julia's stomach hurt badly. How could it be that yesterday he confessed his love to her and now he dropped the bomb of these deadliest words?
How could someone be so heartless and cruel? She hated him with every fiber of her being. She didn't want to see or hear from him again. Isn't it awful? To know about Iove and pain all at once.
