There were many changes that occurred after the accident. The soothing voice that used to wake Julia up was felt with agony. The morning happy smile was fake. That made Julia sadder. Helen was always there for her now it's Julia's turn to return the favor.
"Julia, you're in deep thinking lately, what happened?" asked Thomason,"and you, Mr. Happy why are you so gloomy today."
Thomason gave a friendly punch to John's shoulder. John gave a weak smile.
"Helen!"said Julia," there's something she is hiding. A terrible distress behind her smile."
"It's all because of me!"said John with regret.
Julia and Thomason were confused.
"I am the one who caused the pain she is going through. I confessed my feelings for her and kissed her. I didn't think she was in love. Because of me not only did her relationship get ruined but pieces of her precious heart broke. I can't breathe properly nor can I sleep properly at night. Whenever I close my eyes I see her crying. Please help me make her happy again."
John was on the floor sobbing and begging Julia to help him. Both Julia and Thomason felt sympathy towards John.
"I will try my best John,"said Julia.
"Thank you," replied John with spark of hope in his eyes.
Then they all went to their classes. There was nothing else in Julia's mind except Helen and her situation.
"Good afternoon Helen,"greeted Julia as she entered the house.
"Good afternoon Julia," replied Helen with a lower tone than usual.
"I'm going to stay at my room until dinner."
"Alright I'm going to call you when it's ready," replied Helen.
Julia went halfway upstairs and then stopped and stared at Helen with a worried and sympathetic look. Then she proceeded to her room. Julia sat on the bed and stared at the entire room. Its wasn't like her old room. This room was also enormous in size and had books for Julia to read. But there was something missing.
It missed the good night kisses before bedtime, it missed the warm worried faces during sickness this room didn't have it. It didn't have the presence of parental love. Julia then focused on the problem of Helen and scolded herself for making it about her. But she couldn't help but think of that.
" Helen have always been here for me. I can't stand seeing my friend like that. She don't deserve it; she didn't bring anything to this world but compassion and peace. John is a good person. He didn't mean to do it. He is ready to sacrifice his happiness just to see Helen smile. I need to fix this. But how?"
Julia was frustrated because she couldn't find any solution. Later that evening, Annie and Julia sat for dinner.
" Helen darling come sit with us. I have an important announcement to make." Annie called for Helen who was in the kitchen.
Julia was confused about what her mother was going to say.
" It's a crucial and delightful news. Billson and I are engaged and the wedding is to take place this Thursday at the backyard of the house," said Annie joyfully.
Julia was in complete shock. The most thing she feared has happened.
"Are you happy?" asked Julia.
