Chapter 1-The new job

The wind was flowing through my hair. The bright green, pink, blue, and yellow ends shimmered against my brown hair. I grabbed my hair and put it in a high ponytail. I closed the window as I began to get ready for the day.

I put in my blue and bright green with black strips shirt and denim vest on. I also put on neon yellow skinny jeans with a black strip running down the sides with pink cons and black fingerless gloves. I then finished my look of with a green belt and my neon color mix headphones around my neck. I then started to walk out the door and down the hallway of the my apartment.

I picked up my skateboard in the loby and started towards the location of my new job.

I was skateboarding all the way their considering I didn't have a car. I didn't care though. I mean I was only a 15 year old. I stopped and looked at the huge mansion surrounded by a metal fence. I swallowed hard and then walked through the gate and into the house. My yellow eyes looking at every detail.

A butler pointed me into what I think was a living room and I saw that there was already 4 people there. i walked past everyone and sat in a yellow cushioned chair and saw that a boy was staring at me. he had beautiful silver eyes and blonde hair. their was something about his outfit that reached out to me, but I didn't know or remember. Then a man with a Elvis hairdo and unbuttoned vest without a shirt came on the huge plasma tv. he began to speak in a deep voice.

"You all are here to become body guards. well only a few I assume will make it. You have a digital list of items , I want you to bring back one before 3 days."

I looked down at the digital list the butler have me and scrolled through. I then stopped with wide and sick eyes. One of the items was... Scarlett Eyes. the eyes were famous and know as the 7th most beautiful thing on earth. Also the eyes belong to my now extinct clan... I quickly switched and looked back up to the screen.

"You may go, if u can leave here alive." A man that looked 20 or so stood up and tried opening the door, but the moment his hand touched the handle he fell to the floor dead. Everyone except me and the boy that stared at me started freaking out. They all fell too. I then felt something surrounding my heart, almost like chains. I then realized what was going on.

"Can u please release me? I know you already work for the boss so you can stop the act."

The blonde smiled as his eyes softened.

"Well you're defiantly smarter than everyone else. I'm Kurapika." He lifted his hand and released chains on all of his finger, but the one on his pinky had 4. Each on leading to one of the corpses and me. He simply pulled on the chain and a small dagger came out of the place where the chain went into my body.

I smiled and shook his hand. "I'm Mara! Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go find an item from the list." I flipped my skateboard up off the floor and rode through the window since the door handle was poisoned and was on my way.

I was looking through the list again and decided on the fingernail of a witch. the task though was disappointingly easy.

Once I found a witch to target I went over to her location. she just laughed weird saying stuff and shooting fireballs at me. she had horrible aim though so I didn't even have to bob and weave. I just jumped up to her, knocked her out, and ripped one of her nasty nails off. Simple. I was hoping for a challenge, but hey I've got the job now right?

Okay so u guys might be confused now cause this time Kurapika and the other bodyguard dude (forgot his name) were testing the ppl, but my story takes place after he became a bodyguard and so yeah.

Srry if u thought it sucked, but hey I'm trying right? anyway comment what u think plz and I'll try to continue this and hope that some ppl actually read this and like it.
