Hunter or Prey?

Chapter 10:

I swear dropped again for like the 5th time that day and nervously laughed.

"What.."

"Was..."

"That?"

All three of the other body guards spoke and I just scratched the back of my head.

"That ladies and gentlemen was my nen..." They all had blank faces then Kurapika put it together.

"Oh.... So do u have other ones in ur head too??"

"Yep."

"Oooo!! What kinds are their?!" Neon bounced up to me with a new sparkle in her eye.

"Well from weakest to strongest is.... Water the tease which you just saw, earth the wise, air the mysterious and cocky, light the happy, ice/snow the rude, metal the rebellious, darkness the quiet, electricity the childish and energetic, and lastly fire the fighter/angry."(A.N. I just realized fire the fighter sounds like firefighter!!XD anyway)

"Wow!! Can I see them?" Neon asked with hopeful eyes.

"If I ever use them in a fight then you can. Its to dangerous to just let them take over me just to show off. Excpetaly the top three..."

"So are they the reason you blacked out earlier?" Kurapika asked.

I turned to him to respond "Yeah if they need to talk to me they make me blackout."

"Shouldn't we go back to the house?" Melody asked politely as all the rest of the bodyguards nodded and brought Neon safely home.

I walked back into my room and slipped my headphones back on and listened to 'Not the One'. (A.N. The songs chorus is I'm not the one that wants to hurt u.)

I sighed and collapsed on my bed. 'What on earth was fire talking about? Oh well... Shes usually right... I did make her that way...'

I then raised my right hand. It was the same hand that had the injury, but I have it to fire... I was only 5 when it happened....

My mind started to slip into a flashback.

FLASHBACK!!!

I walked into my new house with my new adopted parents timidly. They didn't even really adopt me just brought me off the street, but honestly I probably would've done better on the street... anyway.

My little 5 year old body snuck into my room as I ran under the bed hoping they wouldn't find me this time. I heard the door opened then slam shut so hard the house shook. I clasped my hands together to try and pray, but my door opened.

In walked a pair of black high heels which meant one thing.... she got drunk again...

Whenever my 'mommy' wore high heels she went to a club and always came home drunk....

I was pulled by my arm roughly and looked into the broken and cold brown eyes of her. She had brown hair that was matted and messed up and still wore her tight strapless black dress that went halfway down her thighs.

I was lifted off the ground as tears began to stream down my little face. I noticed she still carried an empty beer bottle. I could smell the alcohol on her breath.

She shoved me down then....

END OF FLASHBACK

I jerked up into sitting position and realized it was a nightmare. I clutched my head as I tried to catch my breath then notice Kurapika next to my bed.

"Are you okay Mara?"

"Yeah... just a nightmare... What's up?" I looked at him then smelt a great food fragrance come into my room.

"We still haven't had dinner. Come on."

He pulled me out of the bed so much that my headphones slipped off and around my neck.

We ran into the kitchen that had white marble floors with cream walls and celling. The cabinets and countertops were the same cream color. Then I saw what was on the island in the middle of the room...... it was....... it was..... FOOD!!!!

My eyes widened as I looked crazy and stopped in my tracks. Kurapika and everyone looked at me weird.

"Um... Mara are you okay?" Kurapika asked as he looked back at me. I started breathing faster and faster.

"Mara?" Melody asked. Then her eyes widened and she ducked behind the island. Everyone looked at her weird then wished they followed her after what happened next.

"FOOD!!!" I ran to the island and started eating everything on the plate that was already prepared for me.

"WOHOO!" Well... everyone except Neon wished they followed Melody.

I then stopped and looked at everyone then smiled "You wanna know what I've always wanted to do?"

They all looked terrified except Neon who looked excited.

"FOOD FIGHT!" I pick up some mashed potatoes with my hand and chucked it at Basho who dodged unfortunately.

"EVERY MAN FOR THEMSELVES!" basho screamed hurtling food back my way. After that everyone joined in. It was a blast! Boys verses girls is what it turned out to be.

Then Kurapika grabbed the ketchup and squirted a shot at Neon.

"Nooooooooooooo!!" I shouted and jumped in front of her taking the shot.

"Mara!" Neon and Melody yelled as I fell to the floor.

"Ha ha ha ha ha!" Basho laughed as the girls rushed to my side.

I breathed quickly and put my hand on the red spot where the ketchup landed then lifted my hand alittle to see the redness.

"Mara! stay with me! Don't you die on me!" Neon shouted as she had fake tears streaming down her face.

"I'VE BEEN SHOT! Listen... Neon.... and ....... Melody..... I don't..... Have... much time....." I started to lean back as Melody put my head on her lap.

"Stop speaking! You'll only have even less time..." Neon said

"Tell..... tell my...... tell my mother..... I.... hate......her....." I whispered as I fell back completely and closed my eyes falling limp.

"No...." Melody softly said.

"MARA!!!" Neon yelled at the roof. She then stood and grabbed one last lump of food then looked fiercely at Kurapika who just stood wide eyed then ducked down when Neon had thrown it.

Unfortunately for all of us at that moment Neons dad walked through the door and that was where Kurapika was standing. The food flew through the air and landed right on his trimmed face.

All of us stood frozen.... well..... I was still laying on the floor, but you get the point!

Neons dad looked red then looked even more red when he noticed our mess.

"What is the meaning of this?!?" He screamed so loud it made me flinch and afraid...... he reminded me of the past I have that want to forget... couldn't he lower his voice?

"Hey..... dad...." Neon whispered.

Hey peeps!! I finished this chapter!!! Yay!!!

Who else thinks this chapter is awesome?? I HAD to put a food fight in here sometime I mean come on ppl!!
