Hunter or Prey?

Chapter 15

Everyone looked at me now wanting to see what I looked like so took a breath and slowly walk into their view.

They all stood breath taken and I clearly saw Kurapika and Killua blushing. Gon and the sales lady were happy.

"You look so beautiful Mara!" Gon said excited.

I kinda laughed and thanked Gon.

"I'll go ring up the numbers for you!"

"I'm gonna go and change-"

"No time Mara we gotta go back and finish getting ready." Killua stated and pulled me out of the store apparently with my clothes in a bag.

We all went back to the apartment and I sat in my room letting them get ready and decided might as well go all girly for this.

Neon gave me makeup at least so I decided to put some on. I took my hair down and pinned it to one side.... I failed....

I heard a knock on my door.

"Who is it?"

"Gon."

"Come in"

Gon walked in with a box and then saw my hair.....

"I know it looks bad I'm just gonna so a side braid." I explained as I did my hair. It looks much better and my makeup wasn't that bad considering it was my first time putting it on.

"I have a surprise for you!" He held out the box which I took.

When I opened it I saw silver sandal heels.....

"Thank you Gon... I've never worn heels though...."

"It wasn't me who got them for you and no I won't tell you who it was. See ya when your ready!" He then walked out the door.

I sighed and put them on. I didn't want to hurt the persons feelings...

I walked, wait no, make that stumbled out my door to see all three of them in tuxes. They all just kinda looked at me as I stumbled in my heels. Whenever I steadied myself I looked at them.

"Can I change shoes?"

"No it's too late the car is here to pick us up." Killua stated as they started walking towards the door. I sighed and tried my best to follow.

"Here maybe if you lean on me it'll be easier." Kurapika suggested so I held his hand to steady myself and made it to the car. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

We got to the restaurant and made our way over to our table where Leorio sat waiting. He looked up and said hi to everyone, but for me his jaw dropped to the floor.

"What?"

"You're wearing a dress!"

"Well you did say it was formal."

"I didn't think you'd go through with it!"

I sighed and sat in my seat. Gon was across from me next to Killua as I sat by Kurapika and Leorio sat at the head of the table.

We ordered our food and drinks then waited for them to come out.

"Hey Mara?" Gon asked catching my attention as I looked towards the window (A.N. no Kurapika wasn't next to the window otherwise this would've been creepy)

"Yeah Gon?"

"Why'd you become a hunter?"

I froze and pondered the question thinking of my answer.

"Well..... at first I wanted to take revenge on someone, but.... now I don't really want to anymore.... I guess right now with all the information I can get I could try finding my last name." I explained to Gon and everyone else did a spit take. We had gotten our drinks a moment before.

"You don't even know your last name?! How stupid is that!" Leorio loudly yelled at me.

"Well sorry if I wasn't with my parents long enough to remember my last name." I retorted back without a moment hesitation.

Our food arrived a moment later so we all ate and had fun the rest of the night. Then we got into the car again and walked into the hotel loby.

"You guys go ahead I wanna get something from the vending machine!"

"We just ate!" Killua exclaimed.

"I may be a girl, but I know how to eat." I explained easily as the two younger boys walked towards the elevator.

"I can stay with you. You haven't been the best in those shoes." Kurapika said. I nodded and we walked over to the vending machine I got a bag a chips the turned and stepped on the heel just wrong enough to fall.... I dropped my chips and kept my eyes open preparing my arms for impact, but instead I feel into Kurapika.

We both stood stunned with our faces 5 inches away from each other. His arms were around my waist to keep me from falling, but we couldn't move. Then we both slowly started to lean in closer and closer. I started closing my eyes and could feel Kurapikas breath on my lips. We were only centimeters apart til the door bell thing rang causing us to split immediately both blushing like crazy.

"Hey guys. I forgot to tell you that I'm staying in the same hotel." Leorio walked through the door not even bothering with our blushing faces.

"Okay... we better go then." Kurapika stated.

"Wait where are you staying Kurapika? There's only two bedrooms in Gon and Killuas apartment and they share a room."

"He could stay with me." Leorio suggested and we agreed. Apparently Leorio stays in the room below us.

"Bye guys!" I waved to them as they walked into the room.

I got to my floor and walked to my room. I had gotten my sleeping tank top and shorts then headed to the shower. After that I put my hair in a braid and went to bed.
