Hunter or Prey?

Chapter 25

I fell to my knees sobbing and wishing all this would just go away. Outside the flames were burning everything to a crisp. Screaming children. Bloody grass. I can't help them. I'm trapped in a room and can't help. My eyes couldn't be torn away from this mess infront of me.

That's when my window broke and glass shattered all around me I tried backing up, but ended up getting cuts all over my legs, arms, and face anyway. The flames licked the window ceil before advancing into the room. They crawled inside and came closer and closer. The fire rose higher and closer to me.

My breathing quickened as the flames became only a few measly inches from where I was to be. I couldn't move. They were speaking to me.

"You're useless! Pathetic! You left us for the fire. Now it's your turn!"

I didn't know whose voice it was, but I couldn't move. It's like the fire froze me to my spot. I shook with fear as the fire grew even closer. The heat was scorching. I willed myself to move, but my body wasn't listening to my mind.

It was then that the gap was closed. The fire consumed me as I screamed from the burning sensation. The burning stopped when I colapsed to the floor. I looked up and saw one side was fire the other was water.

The fire showed the shadow of Maleena and of a group of people I didn't know. The water showed the people I loved and were friends with. It had Ging, Gon, Kurapika, Killua, Leorio, Palm, Biscut, and everyone I knew from childhood.

"Choose wisely." a voice whispered when everything blurred and dissapeared.

I shot up with sweat all over my face and neck causing my hair to stick to my face. I was panting trying to calm my racing heart. I raced to the window where everything looked normal. Everything was fine.

"It was just a dream?" I asked myself leaning on the wall for support. None of this was making sense in my head. Who was the group in the fire and who was the voice? It sounded almost like a mans, but I wasn't sure of much anymore...

I sighed and grabbed a change of clothes from my suitcase deciding to wash all the sweat away with a shower. That would help clear my head.

I let the warm water relax me and wash away my doubt and confusion for the moment. I must've stayed in the shower forever just feeling the water because the water started to turn cold.

I emerged from the shower drying off and attempting to dry my hair after I put my clothes on. I couldn't dry my hair all the way so I just left it down. It was to much work to have to put wet hair into a ponytail. I didn't have the energy right now.

I needed to try scouting the area for now, so I grabbed my skateboard, the key to the room, my phone, and headed out. I rushed past people getting a feel for places I could run if I needed to and such.

The bracelet I wore on my wrist jingled slightly from the wind as I rushed around the city. My stomach growled so I stopped at a small shop to get something to eat.

Buying a sandwich with a soda I continued my journey around the city and felt more comfortable here.

I looked around at faces to see if I've seen them before. By this time my hair dried so I reached up to put my hair up.

I felt a screeching pain shot from my scallop from a hand yanking my hair. I grabbed the hand when they took my hands put some sort of cuffs on me and yanked me away into an alley. I struggled against them trying desperately to release someone, but nothing was happening.

I felt a blow to my stomach and felt blood gush from my mouth. I was on my knees trying to get my breathing back. The person covered in black (like the people I fought before) kicked me to my back. A man placed his foot at the bottom of my ribs and pushed down.

I screamed in pain, but they stuffed a gag in my mouth. Next thing I knew a pain erupted from my head and the blackness welcomed me.

My life took a turn and now I have a battle to fight.

Wohooooo! I did it! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

The reason I feel accomplished is because that is the last chapter. I WILL NOW MAKE THE SEQUAL!! It may take awhile, so plz be patient! I'll add an A.N. chapter to this story to tell everyone that the next book is up and published.
