Hunter or Prey?

Chapter 13

A.N. This chapter is in Kurapikas point of view from when Mara walked out the door and quit.

--------------------------------------------- I watched Mara as she opened the bosses door and stomped to her room. I heard some noise coming from her room afterwards. Without thinking I walked to her room and stood at her door.

"Mara? What are you doing?" I asked curiously seeing her suitcase on the bed.

"I quit." she stated plainly. My eyes widened in shock

"You what?"

"I quit." She responded again as she turned around.

"Why would you do that?"

"I got mad." I saw saw her zip up her suitcase and began to walk towards her door. I place my arm in front of her to stop her from going outside.

"Move your hand Kurapika." She looked so morbid as she spoke.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No Mara. Did you really think you were gonna leave before saying goodbye.

She dropped her suitcase and looked at me. Then she wrapped her arms around my neck and uncautiously wrapped my own arms around her body. I didn't even know why I was doing it I just felt drawn to her and now..... shes gonna leave....... possibly forever......

She let go so I followed her movement then let her grab her suitcase say goodbye to everyone else and leave. I watched as she moved past the door out into the world I kept watching even though I couldn't see her.

'I let her go.' I thought to myself feeling regret. 'I LET her go. I let her go....... shes gone now..... cause I let her go..........' I sighed and walked into my own room. I decided to call Gon. I don't know why I just decided to.

The phone was ringing til I heard his cheerful voice.

"Hello!"

"Hey Gon."

"Kurapika! It is you!"

"Yeah Gon it's me. I was wondering if I could stay with you and Killua for a little bit."

"Sure! but..... why?"

"There's a girl named Mara and I wanna ding her to make sure shes okay."....... what did I just say?

"Okay! Bye!"

"Bye." I hung up and just sat for a little bit 'why in the world did I just do that?' I sighed 'well since I already told Gon might as well go..... he'd be crushed if I didn't after I told him I would.' I started to pack a small suitcase and left making sure no one noticed me, but left a note for Melody. She'd be able to cover for me while I'm gone.

I got a ticket and left to the city where Gon and Killua lived. I really do hope Mara's okay.
