SHELBY'S POV-
"Hey Shelb." I heard someone say and I looked up to see Luke. I'm kind of disappointed, I wanted to see Nathan but I guess I did make plans with the other Parkston boys."Hey guys." I said and they sat down around the table.
"He's such an ass wipe." Trey said as I picked up the menu.
"Guys, seriously I'm fine. He's your brother and you should be taking his side." I said and Eric sighed.
"Shelby, the way Nathan is acting is the Nathan we know. It might be like a teenager phase but that's not Nate. That Nathan sitting at home not paying attention and acting like an idiot is someone that we don't know and didn't grow up with." Eric said.
"Shelby, Nathan and I are really close. Probably the closest out of all of us, I've never seen him act this way especially to all of the sibs." Derek said and I sighed.
"What's going on, then?" I asked and they just shrugged.
"We don't know but we're going to find out, that's for sure." Trey said and I nodded.
"Thank you, I really do appreciate this and how much you guys care for me." I replied and they all smiled.
"Hey, you're our sister. Never forget that, we're always looking out for you kiddo." Eric said and I smiled.
"Now, where's that waitress? I'm starving!" Luke said and we all laughed.

"Shelby!" Madie yelled on purpose across the hall and I rolled my eyes. Just because Nathan was right there she was screaming my name.I grabbed my backpack and shut my locker. Madie was running down the hall and I smiled at my best friend.
"Hey Mads." I said and she smiled at me.
"Hey Shelbs, I for sure got his attention." Madie said and I laughed.
"No need to do that anymore. I'm done with him, if he's mad that I had to move back home then that's his problem." I said and she nodded.
"Let's go, I have such a fun weekend planned for us!" Madie said and I laughed.
"What's the plan for this weekend?" I asked.
"So, we're going to Josh's party and then you're gonna spend the night at my house." Madie said
"A party? I don't know if I want to go to a party especially Josh's." I said.
"Come on Shelbs! It'll be so much fun and I thought you wanted to get your mind off of Nate."
"I do, but a party? Mads, you know parties aren't my thing..." I said and she sighed.
"Fine, how about we go for an hour or so and then we can go back to my house and spend the rest of the night watching movies and pigging out."
"Fine..." I said and Madie squealed.
"You're the best Shelby!" Madie said and I smiled.
"Come on, let's go get ready and get this over with." I said and pulled her out of the school.

"Shelby? I didn't expect a girl like you to come to my party." Josh said as I walked into the kitchen and I rolled my eyes."Maybe because I want to be here to make sure you don't do anything to my best friend." I glared at him.
"I'm hurt Shelby, why would you think I would do such a thing to Madie?" Josh said with a smirk acting hurt.
"Cut the bullshit Josh, I know that you do some shady ass things at these kinds of parties." I said and he put his hand over his heart.
"Wow Shelby, I didn't think you could hurt me more... just grab a drink and chill." Josh said and I glared at him.
"Fuck off Josh." I said and he smirked and walked off.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I heard someone say behind me and I turned around to see Nathan.
"I'm drinking water?" I said confused.
"I mean, what are you doing at this party?" Nathan asked.
"Look Nathan, you can't tell me where and where not to be because apparently you're not my boyfriend anymore and I'm a junior now so I can take care of myself." I said and he glared at me.
He grabbed my hand and said, "let's go, I'm taking you home."
"Don't touch me." I said and yanked my hand away and his stern look changed into a hurt look.
"What's going on in here?" Madie asked as she walked towards me.
"Why did you bring her here, Madie?" Nathan asked and I scoffed.
"I don't understand why you care so much." I said and he just looked at me.
"Maybe because I care about you?" Nathan said and his voice broke.
"Come on Madie, I can't deal with all this heartbreak..." I said and walked out of the kitchen as tears were slipping down my face.
"Shelby!" I heard him call out for me and I ran out of the house with Madie guiding me around the crowd of people.

"Shelby, please just open the door." Natalie said outside my door and I just groaned in the pillow.
"No..." I said and I heard her sigh outside the door.
"Alright but I have a letter out here for you from Nate so if you want it then it's outside on the kitchen counter." Nat said and I heard her walk away.
I sighed and sat up on my bed and went into my bathroom to shower and get ready for the day.
I walked into my closet and put on my floral romper that was white with pink flowers and leaves all over it. It made me happy because of the vibrant pink and it reminds me of spring which is my favorite season.
I walked into the kitchen and Nat smiled at me and I gave her a tight smile back but when I saw baby Cole giggling while Nat was feeding him made me beam with happiness. Seeing Cole makes me so happy and beam with joy, that kid just makes me happy.
"So Stars, what are you up to today?" Nat asked me.
Natalie calls me Stars because when we were little all I wanted to do was lay in the grass and watch the stars at night. It took my parents hours to get me to stop looking at them and come inside. My mom and dad loved it about me but were annoyed at the same time, I miss moments like that.
"I don't know, I was thinking maybe we could take this little munchkin out to the park and maybe get some air?" I said and her face lit up.
"That sounds actually amazing right now, let's pack some food and have a picnic in the park for lunch, just like the good old days?" Natalie said and I nodded and smiled.
"Just like the good old days." I said and we both smiled.
"Do you want the letter he left for you?" Nat asked and I looked at the piece of paper.
"Sure, I'll feed Cole while you go get ready." I said and she handed me the spoon and letter then walked into her room.
I gave Cole a spoonful of the mashed up bananas and opened the letter.
