"Shelbs, do you want me to drive you home today?" Gabe asked me and I nodded.
"Shelby!" I heard someone shout and I sighed as I turned around.
"Nate, what is it now?" I asked him and he smiled his freaking goofy but sexy smile. Snap out of it Shelby, what the hell is wrong with you...
"I'll drive you home! I need to talk to you anyways."
"Gabe is driving me home actually, I'll talk to you tomorrow," I said and turned back around and started walking with Gabe.
"Gabe!" A blonde cheerleader walked up to us.
"Hey Jasmine, you ready?" Gabe asked and she nodded and started to giggle. Which may I add was very annoying...
"Are you driving her home today?" I asked him as she linked arms with him.
"Yeah, we're going to her house to work on a project. I can drop you off on our way there." Gabe said and she glared at me.
"Oh shoot, I just forgot my laptop in Mr. Kirk's classroom." I lied.
"Oh, we can wait for you here," Gabe said and I shook my head.
"Go, I'll be fine. I need to finish my essay anyways and it'll be a nice time for me to study." I said and he nodded.
"I'll see you tomorrow Shelbs," Gabe said and got into his car and drove away.
I ran back to the school before the doors locked and walked into the library and sat at a table.
"Is this seat taken?"
"Nate... go home," I said as I put my earbuds in.
"Nope, I'm good."
"Those seats are taken by Judith, Oliver, and Marcus," I said as he almost sat down.
"What are you talking about? Are those your imaginary friends that you made since you didn't have me?" Nate asked as he pulled out his laptop and I took my ear buds out.
"You wanna die?" I asked him and he chuckled and I couldn't help but smile. I kinda missed this...
"Did I just sit on Judith..."
"Yeah you just crushed her fragile body because of your fat ass," I said as I opened Google Docs.
"I would rather say plump ass instead, I don't like the sound of fat ass," Nate said and I threw my magazine at him.
"You make me angry." I huffed and he smiled.
"Thanks for telling me I have a nice ass though, you're too kind," Nate said and I rolled my eyes and smiled at the same time.
"I'm actually going to murder you, Nathan," I said and he shrugged.
"I wouldn't want to be killed by anyone else, Shelby Wilson," Nate said and I sighed.
"I have work to do, Nathan. Please leave me alone." I said as I scrolled through my half-written essay.
"Shelbs, how are you getting home..."
"Magic," I stated and did jazz hands with a stone cold face.
"We get it your adorable, now type," Nathan said and I smiled to myself and got to work.

NATHAN'S POV-
I looked up to see Shelby passed out with her arm on the table and her head resting on it. I don't know how to explain it but he's so beautiful. She's so damn beautiful."Shelby..." I whispered to her as she shifted around.
"5 more minutes..." Shelby grumbled in her sleep.
"Shelbs, we don't have any time for that. We have to leave the library, the school is locking up any minute." I said and started packing my things and started packing her's. I shrugged on both of the backpacks and started to wake Shelby up.
She looked up at me and I smiled at her as she said, "give me my backpack, I need to get home."
"I'll drop you off today, you look exhausted," I said and she frowned and started touching her face like there was something wrong with it.
"You're still the most beautiful girl in this room," I said and she blushed then frowned.
"I think Gladis the librarian is prettier than I am though," Shelby said and I chuckled and grabbed her hand.
"Let's go."
"I was going to stop by Sonic on my way home; I'll walk home it's fine."
"I'll just drive you to Sonic, I'm in the mood for a milkshake anyway," I said and she smiled as I lead her down the hallway.

I saw Shelby walking down the hallway with Madie and right when I saw her my face lit up. She saw me and gave me a big smile but then someone stopped her in the hallway.Cooper.
He's one of my boys from soccer who's a narcissistic asshole and has been chasing after Shelby ever since we started dating. Madie glared at him and told him, "back the fuck up, Cooper."
Madie dragged her over to me and I thanked her with my facial expression. I grabbed her hand so she felt protected and I wanted to protect her with all my heart.
"I'll meet you in math; I'm going to go talk to Jeremy about our date later," Madie said smiling ear to ear and walked off.
"Hey..." I said and she smiled and lead me to the stairwell.
She hugged me tightly and I finally relaxed and hugged her back, "I just really wanted to hug you today."
"It's been a rough morning," I said as we sat down on the stairs.
"Yeah, Derek asked me if I could talk last night and I heard about Riley," Shelby said and set her head on my shoulder.
Today is the 11 year anniversary of Riley's death and it's been affecting the whole family today especially me. I was so close to Riley and it hurts me to think about her because Shelby reminds me so much of Riley. She's so compassionate, happy, positive, curious, adventurous, and I care about her. Riley sent me Shelby and I feel like if Riley was still here then they would be best friends but sometimes the world doesn't work like that.
"Will you go somewhere with me after school? I really want you to come with me," I said and she held my hand and nodded.
"Of course Nate, I'll see you at lunch?" Shelby asked and I nodded as she got up.
"I'll see you later," I said and she nodded then kissed my cheek and ran off. I could tell she was blushing like a bright red tomato but so was I.
