"Shelby?" Nat called out as she knocked on my door.
"Nat, I told you that I'm not hungry." I said to her and I could hear her sigh.
"I think if you came home sick from school than you should have some of mom's soup." Natalie said and I sighed, I could never resist mom's recipes.
"Nat... I'm not actually sick." I said and she laughed.
"Really?!" Natalie said all sarcastic and I rolled my eyes.
"Yes really." I said as I opened my door and she smiled and entered my room with a bowl of soup.
"Mom's soup always could cure anything, now tell me what's wrong." Natalie said and I took the tray.
"Something happened at school today." I said as I twirled the spoon around in the clam chowder.
"I can see that, Shelby. Now tell me what happened at school." Natalie said and I sighed.
"Nothing, I just don't want to be at school." I replied to her and she sighed.
"Stars, you're not the type to just leave because you don't want to be there. You love learning and school in general."
"Nat, everyone just needs a break sometimes." I said and she nodded and left the room.
My phone went off.
Hey.
My heart started to beat... It was Nathan.
Hi.
What's up?
Nothing much, wbu?
I'm at school, you should be here too but you're not.
I'm at home sick.
Shelby, do you really expect me to believe that?
I am, I need some rest. Goodbye.
I sent the last text and turned my phone off and put it in my drawer. It's time to say goodbye to him.

"It's a good thing to come out of the house and take an adventure to the mall like old times." Madie said to me and I smiled."I'm sorry that Nathan is screwing up my life, it's not letting me have my full attention on the important things like you." I said and Madie nodded with an understanding smile.
"I understand, Shelby." Madie said and I hugged her.
I am so grateful to have Madie as my best friend.
"Shoot..." I said and looked across the food court to see Nathan and his friends.
"Come on, let's go." Madie said and led me through the mall just to get me away from them.
"Wait Madie, Wesley is in that group and you like him." I said as I stopped her.
"I don't care about Wesley right now... I just don't want you to see him and his stupid face. Sure, I like Wesley but I love you." Madie said and I smiled and hugged her.
"You're the definition of best friend." I said and she smiled.
"Come on, let's go." Madie said and we ran off.
"Shelby!" I heard my name and my feet just stopped.
"Shelby..." Madie whispered to me.
"I don't want to even look who's behind me..." I whispered.
"It's Trey." Madie said and I could finally breathe.
I turned around and saw Trey with Wesley and Carson.
"Trey..." I said and hugged him.
"Hey, it's okay. I got you." Trey said and I was so happy to see him.
"Hey Madie, it's nice to see you again." Wesley said and I smiled.
"Yeah, I feel like we haven't seen each other in a while." Madie said with a beaming smile.
"How have you been?" Trey asked me.
"I've been okay, how about you?" I asked him.
"I'm good, I met this girl named McKenzie and we started dating a week ago." Trey said with a wide grin.
"Aww! My twin brother is all grown up now." I said and he chuckled.
"May I ask why you're running away or should I just move on with my day?" Trey asked and I sighed.
"Knowing you, you would never just walk away from this situation and I hate you for that." I said and he smiled at me.
"Hey, I can't help that I'm curious!" Trey said and put his hands up as a sign of surrender.
"I missed you." I said and he smiled.

I entered school and I immediately saw Nate. We made eye contact and I tried to speed walk past the front area."Hey, I'll catch up with you guys at lunch." I heard Nate say and I heard footsteps and a arm wrap around me. I was actually about to break his arm and I took his arm away from me.
"Wow, I'm hurt." I heard a voice say and I look up to see Gabe and I smile in relief.
"Thank God, I thought you were someone completely different." I said and he smiled.
"I'm just an angel from heaven, aren't I?" Gabe exclaimed and I couldn't help but scoff and he put his hands over his heart acting all hurt.
I looked behind me to see Nathan talking to Luna... I guess he was going to see her not me.
NATHAN'S POV-
"Hey, I'll catch up with you guys at lunch." I told my group and they nodded. As I was trying to walk towards Shelby, Luna walked up to me and blocked my way."Hey Nate, I was looking for you." Luna said as she bit her lip and I sighed.
"Do you need something?" I said and then I saw Gabe put his arm around my girl.
"I thought you wanted me, you weren't like this, this weekend." Luna said with a flirtatious smile and I sighed as I saw her take his arm down from her shoulder.
"I was drunk and I just wanted attention, what do you expect from a teenage boy?"
"Is there another girl? Is it that Shelby bitch? She's not even that pretty." Luna said and I rolled my eyes.
"Look Luna, we were just a one time thing. I'm sorry that I made a mistake that night but I'm not into you." I said and Luna's facial expression changed.
"You know what Nathan, stop thinking you're hot shit cause your not. Plus I expected your penis to be a little bit bigger but I guess not. You're a piece of fucking shit and you can go burn in hell. I've got to admit, even Shelby could do better. That's probably why she's dating Gabe now." Luna said and before I could blink I felt a hard hand come straight at my face. I just got slapped by a crazy bitch, cool.
"Okay, bitch. Step back and let me take a little punch too. You're a fucking slut and you just let anyone in your pants. I'm actually surprised that you don't have an STD because the whole school has fucking been with you. You're such an ugly bitch that everyone is so much more beautiful than you. The only way I would ever tap that ass again would be... never. So you can take your prostitute ass back to the strip club because I don't want it." I said and walked away with my group following me while Luna was standing there with a red face.
But the only thing that was on my mind was the fact that Shelby and Gabe are dating.
