Always and Forever // Klaus Mikaelson

Chapter 9

"Elijah, I will never leave her behind." Klaus stated softly into the phone.

"I don't care if it is for her own sake, I can not leave her." he growled softly.  Then I began listening on the phone call.

"Brother, do you want her to get possibly harmed?  Marcel is creating another army - quickly.  We can not let her get harmed in the process of war." Elijah said

"I never will leave her behind to defend for herself.  If it is here or there, I will not.  Ever think that they could easily come to Mystic Falls and harm her here while I am in New Orleans?"

"Hm... You do have a point.  But can't the Salvatore brothers watch her?  And a reminder, brother, she is a werewolf.  A bite from her can kill a vampire." 

I looked at Klaus and mouthed "Go help your brother." Klaus stared at me for a long moment that felt like years then nodded

"I'll be there in a few days.  Without Maya." Klaus muttered then hung up quickly.

"Will you be alright, Love?" He asked, cuddling me closer to his chest.

"Always am alright, aren't I?  Plus I got that weirdo watching me." I nodded towards Stefan, he smiled at me.

"I will be back as soon as I can..." Klaus muttered into my hair as I wrapped my arms tighter around his waist, bringing him closer.  

"I know, just be careful." I said into his shirt.

"I love you." He said softer than ever

"I love you more."

"Always and Forever." He smiled at me as he made me look at him by grabbing my chin.

"Always and Forever, until Forever may end." I muttered then kissed him softly.  Then he vanished without a word.

"So cute." Kai smiled sarcastically.

"I didn't ask for your opinion." I growled

"Always and forever.... such a cute thing." he ignored

"Whatever." I growled louder and walked downstairs into the cellar to where Aurora was, Stefan followed quietly without a word.

"I hope Klaus will be okay." I muttered as I walked down the final steps

"Maya, he is Klaus Mikaelson - of course he will be alright.  Nothing can kill him besides a white oak stake and he burned the last of those." Stefan said in disappointment.

"I remember that, You focused your life on killing him." I said softly

"Then I realized how much you were in love with him.  I noticed you falling for him even when you didn't." It sounded like he was smiling.

"Creep." I smirked softly

"Not a creep, just simply observant."

"How are you and Elena?" I asked

"She went to go live with some close family friends with Jeremy." He said with a hint of sadness.  "She said she was sick of all the vampire drama." 

I turned and looked at him then quickly wrapped my arms around him.  "Well obviously she couldn't deal with your crazy life but yet I could.  That honestly shows a lot..."

"Yeah, I guess so.  I still miss her." He muttered into my shoulder.

"It will hurt for a while, but there will be someone better that will come along.  I can promise you that, Stef." I assured.

A few days later

"I hope Klaus is okay." I said as I sat on the couch that was in front of the fireplace. 

"I'm sure he is.  Why don't you go ahead and see him in New Orleans.  I would think the fight is over by now." Stefan smiled at me.

"Good idea, see this is why I need you around, buddy." I pat his head.  "Whoops, sorry I didn't mean to ruin your perfect hair." I smirked

"I have perfect hair now?" He smiled wider

"Well duh.  No wonder why Damon says its hero hair." I laughed softly 

"I thought he was just always joking." Stefan said pressing down on his lips, trying to keep from laughing.

"Nope.  Well have fun being alone once again.   I'm surprised Aurora hasn't been around to say thank you at least." I frowned slightly

"She is probably upset that you threat to kill her, Maya.  You looked like you truly meant it." 

"Well I did if she was going to kill my husband." I muttered.

"Why are you always protecting Klaus when he has been protecting himself for centuries?" He asked seriously

"I don't really know... I just want to protect my husband.  Is that a bad thing?" I asked, not getting mad but about to get there.

"No, but I don't see the point.  You risk you life for him when he is immortal." 

"Because when you love someone that much you'd give up your own life for that person." I said then smiled after moments of silence.  "Well I guess I better be hitting the road, Stef." I stood up and walked towards the door.

"Don't you need your bags?" He asked on my heels.

"Nah, I'll be back in a few days." I hugged him "Thanks for the company, Stefan.  You're a good friend." 

"Ah, the friendzone.  Now I know how it feels."

I laughed loudly "See you soon." I said still laughing and walking out the door.
