I woke up with a start, quickly.  I gasped quietly; trying to focus on what just happened

"Elizabeth?" I muttered silently, questioning if this was just another dream.

"Who are you talking to, Love?" Klaus asked, leaning against the door frame.

"Oh," I spun my head towards him.  "Nobody, just a dream." I smiled softly.

"Mayyyyyyaaaa" Aurora ran into the room "Your mom is hereeeeee." She groaned.

"Why you so upset about that?  I'm the one that has to go talk to her." I rolled my eyes, sitting up.

"Because Damon nor Stefan would get up to answer the damn door and I was having fun with Kai." She muttered, frowning; then turned to Klaus "Why didn't you answer it?"

"Wasn't in the mood." Klaus shrugged, smiling and chuckling softly.

Aurora playfully smacked his arm and walked out, he watched her walk away until she was out of sight.

"You got a thing for her." I muttered.

"What?" He spun his head at me, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Whatever, forget it." I got up and began walking past him until he grabbed my elbow, causing me to stop.

"Love, I don't have a thing for her." He spun me around to face him.  My back was against the door frame and his face was less than an inch from mine.

"The way you look at her..." I muttered, turning my face to the side.  He grabbed the bottom of my chin with his hand lightly, turning my head back to him.

"It's a look that I don't want to kill her." He stated but it sounded like a question.

I locked my jaw as I stared at his lips.  "Yeah..." I began to bite my own lightly.

"Shouldn't you be happy I don't want to kill one of your friends?" I continued to watch his lips until he cleared his throat lightly, chuckling.

"Sorry... um..." I stuttered

"No need to be sorry, Sweetheart." He placed his hand on the door frame, his arm close to my face.  I felt the heat rushing to my face.

"Maya, you're mom is here!" Damon called from downstairs, breaking the quietness.

"Be right down!" I hollered back.  I turned to Klaus and kissed him quickly "I'll be back."

I ran downstairs and my mom was sitting on the couch looking uncomfortable.

"Maya." She said quietly.

"Mom." I stood in the center of the door frame awkwardly.

"I'm going to go..." Damon cleared his throat and was gone within seconds.

"Please, come sit with me..." Her eyes were filled with sorrow.

"Why should I?" I crossed my arms, frowning.

"Because you are still my daughter and I would like some respect." She frowned too, getting angry.

"This isn't your house." I saw her eyes harden with each word I said.

"Just... listen to me please." She muttered, I could tell she was getting madder.

"Whatever." I growled.  She gestured to try and make me sit, I shook my head.

"Maya, I have something to tell you." She said, calming down softly.

"What is it?" I put my hands into fists.

"You're name isn't Maya Jane Robertson, and you aren't just a normal wolf."

I furrowed my eyebrows "What do you mean?"

"Your name is Sydney Lynn Kenner."

Kenner ringed a bell, I turned around "Klaus, come down here for a second." I said in a normal voice.

He was down in seconds "What is it?" He crossed his arms as he noticed my mom staring at him.

"Kenner.  Do you recognize that?" I asked, staring at him in the eyes.

"Jackson Kenner, the wolf Hayley is marrying." Klaus answered flatly.

"So wait," I turned to my mom "I'm a Kenner?  Like the leader of the Crescent wolves?"

"You're suppose to be the leader next..." Klaus muttered.

"How am I related to him?" I put one finger to Klaus, asking him to be quiet as I asked my mom the questions.

"Yes, him.  And I had an affair... accidentally.  Before you." She muttered, looking down.

"You cheated on dad!?" I screamed.  He may have a horrible taste in girls, and he may be awful; but he is still my dad.

"Yes..." She looked down at her hands.

"What the actual fuck is wrong with you?!  You can't be happy for me, you have an affair with dad, you can barely walk on your own two feet.  Just what the fuck!." I screamed, knowing everyone in the house could hear me.  I didn't care at that moment.  I turned around and placed my hand on my forehead "You can show yourself out." I muttered.

"What?" She asked,

"YOU FUCKING HEARD ME, GET THE HELL OUT BEFORE I MAKE YOU!" I screamed louder.  I felt the wolf inside of me threatening to break through.

"Love, calm down." Klaus placed his hand on my arm lightly and held it; tracing circles with his thumb.

I breathed in deeply.  "Get out." I stared at my mom, my yellow eyes still showing.  I could tell everything was becoming heightened.

She stood there, possibly from fear or stubbornness.

"Damon!  Aurora!" I screamed.  Damon and Aurora were here in seconds.  "Damon, get her out of here; please.  Aurora find a way to keep her out of here... please." I softened my eyes as I stared at them.  They both nodded and got her out within seconds.

I walked into the kitchen and sat on the counter; covering my face with my hands.

"Maya..." I heard a voice, I quickly looked up to see Elijah.

"Elijah..." I began to cry, I jumped off the counter and into his arms.

"What's wrong?" He asked, rubbing my back softly.  I hid my face into his neck, breathing in his scent.

"My mom is a bitch, my life is a total lie, and I just.. hate myself." I murmured

"How is your mom a bitch?"

"Shes the reason my life is a lie." I sighed.  He smelled clean, like cologne.

"How so?"

"She had a fucking affair with my dad, and turns out I'm really Sydney Lynn Kenner, yes related to the guy who is taking Hayley.  Hes my step-brother." I cried harder.  Was this why mom and dad broke up?

"May- Sydney..." Elijah fixed quickly, then paused.  "Everyone makes mistakes."

"She has made too-fucking-many." I growled

"I know, Sydney; I know."

"Sydney?  I like it." I let go of Elijah quickly to see Damon in the doorway, smiling softly.

"It's starting to grow on me... I guess." I shrugged, whipping away tears.

"Common, I have a surprise for you.  It was suppose to be for later but, oh well." Damon chuckled once and grabbed my hand quickly, then we both ran out of the house without our coats.

I laughed as we began to stop, he rubbed his arms slightly.  "Cold?" I asked

"Nah..." He rolled his eyes

"Toughy." I giggled

"Always am." he smirked slightly, his eyes lighting up.  For once, I felt free and happy.
