I quickly got dressed into a plaid shirt and jeans, grabbed my phone off the kitchen counter and began walking out the door.  I ran into something that wasn't the door, it was Stefan.

"Want me to come with you?  I'd be happy to." He offered.

"Ugh, okay." I said acting like I didn't want him to come but in all reality I did.  I needed company, also if Klaus decided to lash out I need someone there.

He smiled at me as he grabbed his keys "We're going in my car."

I groaned "That small thing?  Common." I laughed softly.

"You love that red car and you know it." He smirked softly at me as he opened the door and waited for me to walk past him.  I did and he closed the door behind himself.

"I bet I can beat you to the car." I challenged, smirking playfully.

"Doubtful." He put on his dark sunglasses, smiling.

Damn, he can't get better looking than that  I thought.

"3...2...1..." I ran and he beat me to the car by half a second.

I rolled my eyes "That was unfair anyways."

"How was that unfair?" He smiled wider, he pulled off his sunglasses to look at me in the eyes.

"Um, not sure yet.  Give me a hour to figure that out." I opened the door quickly and jumped in, he got in within a second after me and started the car.  He swiftly put back on his sunglasses.

He kept one hand on the seat and the other on the steering wheel.  I stared at his hand for a long while then I placed my hand on top of his.  He changed his hands position and linked our hands together.  I smiled softly as I stared at them, then I looked up at him and saw him smiling softly at the road, but I knew what he was smiling at - me.

We waited in Joshs' office together.  Stefan waited next to me as the seat to my left was empty, where Klaus was suppose to be.

"Well... he is already 5 minutes late.  He said he would come." Josh said as he looked at his papers on his desk.  His dark brown hair was neatly put together and he had a fancy suit on.

I always liked Josh.  He was my friend before he became a full time lawyer, so obviously I made him mine.  The best part about him was that he knew about vampires, werewolves, and hybrids.  He didn't seem bothered by it either.

I groaned "This was a bad idea." I began to stand but Stefan grabbed my hand and lowered me back into the seat.  "This is ridiculous." I growled under my breath.

The door opened quickly and there stood Klaus in his normal dark clothes.  Dark shirt with black pants and black shoes.

"Sorry... I got a little... how should I put this - hung up." he smiled an evil smile then looked out the window that was next to Stefan.  We saw a body hanging from a rope and was dripping in blood.

"Mr Mikaelson... may you please clean that?  I don't need people thinking incorrectly... or thinking anything about that." Josh asked.

"Ah, I don't think that should be an issue for anyone." Klaus smiled wider towards Josh.

"Klaus, just sit down dammit." I growled under my breath, getting annoyed.

Klaus smiled down at me "Well someone is in a bad mood, aren't we?"

I growled getting annoyed, I stood up with my speed and pushed him into the seat.  "Knock it off, Klaus."

He fixed his posture and stared at Josh.  "So, what is this about?"

"I told you I was filing for a divorce." I glared at Klaus, rolling my eyes.

"Ah, Stefan is here.  Here to cheer on my marriage, old friend?" Klaus ignored me, focusing on Stefan.  They have some bromance shit going on, just Stefan ain't down with that.

"Here to end the marriage Maya isn't into." Stefan smiled at Klaus, challenging him.

"Quit the chitter chatter.  I want this over." I demanded.

Stefan stoked my arm "Just sign a paper and it'll be over.  Don't worry." he said, calming me down automatically.

"Where are the papers, Josh?" I asked.

"Here they are, I just need you both" Josh said as he placed a paper in front of Klaus and I.

Klaus looked at me, and he looked like he actually feared this happening.  He didn't want this to end.

"May Maya and I have a moment?" He asked as he looked at me.

Josh looked at me then nodded.  "Take all the time you need."

Klaus got up and I followed him, he gestured me out the door and I walked past him.

"Maya, I can't let this end." He muttered.

"Klaus... You love Caroline.  If some how it doesn't work out between you two then... I don't know - maybe we can still be friends.  But Klaus I'm not going to be married to someone while their saying how they can't stop thinking about someone other than their wife." I said softly.  "If... If we do end up falling for each other once again... then we can get married again.  But I can't... I just can't be married to someone who loves someone else." I said softer so that only he can hear.

"Maya..." He didn't finish his sentence before I put my hand up.

"Klaus, if you truly love me... sign those papers.  Maybe some day I can feel the same as we did on our wedding.  But I do need time to heal, Klaus." I looked down at my hands

He grabbed my face on both sides.  "Maya, what happened to Always and Forever?" He said softly as he got closer to my face.

The office door swung open with Josh running out.  "Sorry to cut this short but we'll have to do this some other time.  My other client is head deep in shit.  I'll call you when I can meet you both again." He ran past us and I got out of Klaus' grasp when I saw Stefans face.  I quickly walked over to Stefan then Klaus looked at us both, side by side.

"You do realize if Elena does come back he will go right back to her, correct?" Klaus said, and that made me realize...

Maybe Klaus Mikaelson Was Right.
