Chapter 20

Damon came downstairs in a rush, he walked into the kitchen with a smile on his face.

"Maya, can we talk?" He leaned against the door frame with style.  

Can you be a model? I said in my head.

"Sure." I looked at Aurora and Kai as they talked about going outside.  

Damon and I walked into the living room in silence, he gestured for me to sit on the couch, I did and he sat beside me.

"Maya." He started off.

My phone buzzed, ruining the moment.  "Hold on..." I pulled out my phone and it was a text from Josh.

Josh: Hey, Maya.  Niklaus signed the papers, if you can just sign your name on this through the phone that would be great.  It would be less work than having to come to my office (:

Maya: Thanks Josh.  You're the best.

Josh: I know.  Talk soon.

I signed as I signed my name.

"The divorce is final." I smiled towards Damon.  

He smiled back at me, "Congrats, Maya." He hugged me.  

"Congrats on a divorce?  That's new." I chuckled once.  

I got up to look out the window to see where Aurora and Kai were, they were kissing under the snow.  It was honestly adorable.   They noticed me within a second and I gave them two thumbs up.  Aurora grabbed a chunk of snow and threw it at the window.

"Don't break my window or I'll break your neck!" Damon hollered from the living room.  

I walked back to him and sat down, "So, what do you need to talk about?" 

The door opened quickly as Kai and Aurora ran into the kitchen.  I looked at Damon as he looked a little annoyed by getting interrupted every two seconds.

"Common - lets go on a walk." I smiled towards him and grabbed his hand to drag him to the coats.  His hand felt warm against mine, soft even.

We grabbed our jackets and began walking outside along the tar, then into the woods.  The snow looked beautiful against his blue eyes.

"So." I started off.

"So..." He muttered.

"What did you want to talk about?" 

"Us.  Everything." He looked down at the ground so I couldn't see what he was thinking.

"Whats up with us and everything?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Maya, I need you.  I want you." He looked at me, he stopped walking to stare at me.  

I stared back at him.  "Damon.  I just got this divorce final literally 5 minutes ago."

"I can't let you go back to Klaus or go to my brother.  I need to call you mine." His icy blue eyes were filled with hurt.

"Damon, I love you.  But I can't... I can't choose already.  I need space." I said softly.

"I'll be waiting," He muttered under his breath

"You already said that before.  Doesn't seem like you're doing too well with that." 

I shook my head and ran off with my werewolf speed into town.  I slowed down into a walk as I got to the Mystic Grill, opening the door I walked inside and sighed.

"Hey Matty." I muttered as I sat down, placing my jacket on the seat beside mine.

"Hey, Maya.  How's everything going?" He asked, cleaning a glass with a  dish rag.  <- you're welcome briana
