Chapter 40

"You need to choose at some point." Damon pressured.  He's been moody since Klaus and I made it official we're together.  He hasn't talked at all, probably planning a murder, besides to me; mostly its hurtful things.  Klaus wants to kill him every time but... I can't let him.  Even he hasn't talked to Aurora or Stefan, its honestly worrying me.  He flipped off his switch but is still around, and keeping the blood lust in control.  

"I'm not going to choose sides, Damon.  I don't want to hurt Klaus' family or someone Aurora loves." I crossed my arms as Stefan stood beside me.  He was on my side, the not-choosing side.

"Damon, you just chose Kai because you hate the Mikaelsons for taking Sydney" Stefan muttered under his breath and walked out.  Due to his brother not talking to him very much, he doesn't want to speak to him either.

"Kai and I are good friends, I'm not going to choose.  And Kol is family." I said flatly. 

"But it matters who is better for Aurora, even though she isn't my problem." He growled under his breath, taking a drink from his bourbon.  "It's your last chance to choose, Sydney." 

"I'm not choosing, Damon.  And that's final." I growled back.  

"Thanks, I know I'm not your problem but it would be nice to know that you cared." Aurora said from the doorway. 

"You're welcome." Damon smiled towards her, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.  

"Syd?  Would you mind coming with me?" Aurora asked, looking at me.  She looked not shocked by Damons actions.  

"Sure," I glared at Damon then got out of my seat and walked out of the living room.  

"Whats up?" I asked as we walked into Auroras room.

"I'm scared.  I don't want to lose either of them."  

Okay, let me catch you up.  Aurora forgave Kol for his actions, including Kais.  Then they tried making her choose and all that wonderful shit, but she couldn't choose since she loves both of them.  So then they declared war on each other and whoever won got to have Aurora, even though Aurora had no say in that it.  Shes worried one of them will end up killing the other.

"You have nothing to worry about.  You know the plan, if something looks like their going to kill one another I'm going to step up.  They can't hurt me but I sure as hell can hurt them.  Kol, maybe a little but it won't kill him... Kai on the other hand; well he can get healed." She had fear in her eyes when I said Kai on the other hand.  She really does love these two guys, I know how she feels.  

"What if you can't stop Kol?" She muttered, sitting down on her bed.  She ran her hands through her hair.

"Hon, don't worry... I have a backup plan, I promise." 

She looked up at me "Tell me." She demanded.  Her eyes were swollen, they looked like she has been crying for hours.  

"I can't." I muttered.

"Fine." She said, pissed.

"Whatever, Aurora.  Be pissed I won't tell you something to save your boyfriends lives." I turned on the back of my feet and walked out.  Today should be a great day.

"Hey there, Love." Klaus said, smiling widely as he saw me.

"Hey Handsome." I gave him a smile in return.  

"You're worried about today, I can tell." He said softly, walking towards me from the bed.  We were going to New Orleans for the fight, sadly.  

"No, I'm fine." I muttered.
