Damon opened the door quickly and closed it behind him, then set me on the couch.

"You are for sure an idiot for doing that." He muttered, sitting across from me.

I felt my eyes begin to water "Why do you say that shit when you say you love me?" I muttered

"Because I love you." He shook his head slowly, staring at the floor.

"It hurts when you do say that shit." I said softly, my voice cracking in between each word.

"Maya.." He said flatly but with a hint of sorrow creeping out.  He moved to the couch that I sat on, placing his hand on my thigh.

I moved my thigh from under his hand, crossing my arms as I got up.  I walked behind the couch to Damons' new Bourbon table.  He stared at me as I poured a glass for myself.

"You're a douche." I growled under my breath.

"How am I the douche?" He asked, laying down on the couch with his arms behind his head.

"You slammed me into the wall and held me up by my god damn throat!" I yelled, drinking the entire glass within a second.

"You were being an idiot." He growled.

"What else am I suppose to fucking do?" I growled "I loved him."

"You can't love a monster!" he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Really?  I fucking married one." I locked my jaw as I placed my hands on the table, keeping me steady.

"Face it, Maya.  You never loved him." He growled.

It felt like I was hitting a brick wall.  Like my heart was about to explode.  I wanted to kill him for saying that... but I couldn't with how much sorrow and hate was hitting me all at once.

"I did." I muttered.

The door opened quickly, we both looked at it to see Elijah.

"Maya." he smiled softly towards me "Damon." he frowned.

"Elijah!" I jumped up and down, smiling widely as I jumped into his arms.  "O.m.g I've missed you."

"Good to see you too.  I just came by to thank you for freeing my brother, he meant to say thank you to Aurora as well but he had to go deal with something." He hugged me back, his arms tight around my ribs.

"Its fine, it was no problem at all." I smiled as I pulled away.

"I still don't understand why you two broke it off.  He could protect you through anything of everything." He said in a normal tone, not caring Damon was there.

"I can protect her." Damon said, raising his voice slightly.

"Not as much as Nik could, Damon.  He is immortal, you can be killed easily." Elijah stated, focusing his attention on Damon.

"Its about love, not protection.  Protection is just thrown into the deal." Damon sat on the couch still, arms crossed but staring at Elijah and I.  "I can give her everything Klaus couldn't." Damon looked at me and winked.

Elijah looked down, pursing his lips lightly.  "He did give her much.  He would risk his own life for her."

"So wouldn't I." Damon challenged, trying to be better than Klaus.

I rolled my eyes "Elijah, wanna go out to the grill?" I asked, making Elijah focus on me.

"Sure, I would be delighted." He smiled softly then held out his arm for me to take.

I chuckled "Give me a second, I need my jacket." I ran to the coat hanger and grabbed my jacket, Elijah was beside me within seconds; still holding out his arm.

"Shall we?" He smiled

"We shall." I laughed softly then wrapped my arm around his then we let go of each other as we closed the door.

"Good job at making Damon pissed." I smiled

"No problem, shall we?" He gestured for me to run first, I did as he followed quickly behind.

Elijah beat me.  I groaned in defeat.

"Ugh." I stood behind the grill, trying to catch my breath.

"I'm an original, I can outrun you." he smiled softly, not having to catch his breath at all.  He had his hands in his pockets.

"Unfair." I said, finally catching my breath.  I began to walk around the building until Elijah caught my arm.

"Its dark out, we can jump."

"Huh?" I narrowed my eyes at him while furrowing my eyebrows.

"Don't you know we can jump?"

I narrowed my eyes and cocked my head to the side "No?"

"Just close your eyes and push all your weight into your feet, you'll be on the roof within seconds.  Nobody will see you." He smirked at me softly and then was up on the roof within a second.

I closed my eyes and did what he said, when I opened my eyes I was on the roof with Elijah.  He grabbed my forearms, keeping me steady.

"Good job." he smiled, making me feel accomplished.

"Yay!" I smiled wider, jumping up and down in a childish way.  "That was so cool!"

He chuckled, "Common, lets go get a drink."

I pat his head, then messing up his hair.  "I'm sorry, I've always wanted to do that." I smirked

"Thanks." He laughed, placing his hands in his pockets "Lets go." He rolled his eyes, fixing his hair.

"Leggo!" I smirked, pointing towards the ledge.  I ran and jumped as he did the same.
