As I proceeded to the Gate to challenge Pegasus, I couldn't help but feel like the game was reading my mind as I read the conversation between him and Joey.
Pegasus: Oh, Joey-boy, come to challenge me again? I was just on my way out.
Joey: Spill it, Pegasus! What've you done with Yugi?!
Pegasus: What have I done with him? Nothing. But you'll see soon enough.
Joey: Pegasus, you sleeze, what're you talkin' about?!
Pegasus disappeared and the screen went black, fading back into the usual gameplay. I double-checked the end date of the event. 8/2/2017, 0:00. I looked up at the clock. Midnight. The event had ended. I missed my chance.
My brother and I ran up to one of the nurses when she emerged into the waiting room. "How is he?" I asked.
"He's doing fine," she began, "but he gave us quite a scare with all that blood."
Upon further explanation, the nurse said that the source of the blood on his arm was from this huge gash on his shoulder. It stretched from the end of his neck, and all the way down across his chest. That must be where Slifer got him.
By the jaw, and bit strait through him...
